Just got back from the weekend trip. Hope everyone had a fantastic 4th and celebrated arguably the best holiday of the year.
It was our first time there as a family and had the time of our lives.
Hope you enjoy the pics...

Looks like a great trip. I miss the Smokies. As a kid in Georgia I went on many a summer camping trip there. Your pics make me want to go back!

What part of the smokeys where you at? I'm looking to head down that way soon.

Great pics. Been rigth where you were. Recognize the bridge.

Excellent snaps. I haven't been in the Smokies for several years, your pics took me back.

Wow - that brings back memories. I grew up in East TN, so I was stompin around places like that a lot as a kid. Thanks for sharing.

Elkmont Camp Ground. It was our first time there so we were not sure where to stay and we had to stay at a place where we could car camp since my boys cant carry their own rucks.
Hindsight being what it is, we would have liked to stay somewhere where there was more space between campsites, but we had a blast on the trails during the day.

Great pics... brings back some good memories when my family camped in the Smokies when I was a kid. Haven't been there for camping in quite some time, but have taken the motorcycle there several times. Great place!

Hey glefic,
I suggest a riverside campsite if you can manage it. It's much better as far as distance between campsites, and your right beside the river. Make reservations WELL in advance though..

I love all those streams and waterfalls in the Smokies. I've camped at Cades Cove and Elkmont, and yeah those camp sites are pretty close. Looks like you all had a good time.

Did you happen to go through Cades Cove? It is a very nice trip with tons of wildlife the boys would really enjoy it. SMKW is a great shopping experience. Tons of knives at decent prices and sometimes you can even find a salesperson who is very knowledgeable about their products and are willing to go the extra mile to help you (a very rare thing now days.)

Great stream shots! Looked like a hell of a knife shop. Find any RATS?
