Can someone please explain how they can sell name brands for so cheap? Are they factory seconds, or replicas? I just got a catalog offering Massad Ayoob Syderco for 44.99! They also have Howard Viele for 40.00! Now I have seen these knives in my local shops at the lowest 105.00. Please explain.

they just sell em cheap there the real deals:D , they do carry some crap but the name brands are real:cool:

I heard from a dealer that someone over at spyderco let a couple of models out the door real, real cheap to distributers. That person got in some hot water over doing that apparently, but those models are out there cheap.

They're also selling the sptderco Worker knife for 44.99, and its a Serialized Limited Edition. Only 1200 made! I've seen these to order at my local shop for 139.99 :D

Many times they will by buy out knives from distirbutors who are clearancing the older models, stores going out of business also they will sell seconds, if the seconds are noticeable (defects) they will sell them as such, if not they will sell them without advertising them as such.

If you look at the info on the Viele, it's the old AUS-8 version, although at $40.00, it's still a very good deal. I just received three Calypso Jr's from them at $25.00 each, and they were the newer, but recently discontinued VG-10 models.

Isn't most of their inventory overpriced? I've always thought so. They have a special on a few knives at any given time, and the rest of their stuff is noticeably overpriced.

They have some of the best prices on their knives that i've seen, they are alittle more expensive on some spydercos and benchmades but everything else has been cheaper than I can find it on any other site.

The quick explanation is that these are discontinued knives that were likely purchased from the manufacturer on a closeout. No magic. We do the same thing from time to time. These are always great deals if you want the product on the closeout. No need to be afraid of them. Take care.

I've ordered a number of such Spydercos with no problems.

From what is posted on Spyderco's site these are not included in the list of discontinued knives. Spyderco are not great at keeping their site updated so they could have been discontinued recently.
