Thread Master! Great knife there, you lucky man!

Thanks, Will

Thank you Will...I'm just lucky to have such good friends! Joe58 made that one happen!:thumbup:

RR has a lot of nice knives. and that locking Soddie looks marvelous!

Lots of attractive examples of smooth bone posted here!:thumbup:
I think my only one is this Rough Rider Half-Hawk in smooth tobacco bone, but after browsing this thread, I think there will be more smooth bone in my future!

I really like the coulering on the lockback

Thanks, I got that when I was a kid it was my first locking knife, it was pure white when it started out, but my grubby little paws changed that, I've had it for around 30-35 years, it seemed huge when I was a kid.

Hmm, I looked through my list and most of my bone handled knives are jigged and my smooth handled knives are mostly acrylic, micarta, or wood. Here are the few of the list that are smooth bone. Hmm, and except for the Ben Hogan, all look like they have trapper frames.

Canal Street

Case

GEC

Northwoods Hawthorne (GEC made #48)

Scagel Fruitport (GEC made #48)

...
I agree with Rcs that the lockback looks very cool, and the story behind it is even better!:thumbup:

I've had a couple of those too GT, really nice pattern I think
I agree, Jack, although it's a bit bigger than what I typically carry. I'll have to try to give it a fair chance in the rotation this summer. ;)

It's certainly a substantial knife  Every time I buy one, I end up giving it away to someone who admires it! :D

it is really surprising ( or maybe I shouldn't be surprised) how well Rough Rider puts out a nice bone scale.....

here is my smooth bone, until the Northwoods # 15 arrives, GEC Maverick in primitive bone

I'm a fan of the smooth yellow that Queen Cutlery uses on their Winchester and Moore Maker knives. Here are a couple examples.

Well, I asked for it and you guys are killing me here! So many gorgeous examples to spur me on in acquisition efforts. Here's one more I forgot to put in my original post.
