Any suggestions on type and brand of lubricant for folders?

I use graphite. It's not buttery smooth, but should give good wear resistance. It's also a dry lube, so I would recommend it over any oil.
Apparently Miltec is also a dry lube after being baked, and I've only read positive reports of it. I'd give the Miltec a try.

I myself, used Liquid graphite for a while, found it to be very messy overall.

Now i am using Hoppe's gun oil.

Very nice action, just have to remember when using oil based products to remove the excess, or it does attract contanminants.

I've used 3in1, wd40, silicone, militec, and a half dozen other lubricants and rust preventatives, and the best thing I've found so far is Tuf-Glide. It goes on wet, and dries, which means no globs of dust/lint building up inside the knife. I sweat alot, and every time I remove my pocket knife, it's got sweat beaded up all over it. Since I've been using Tuf-Glide(about 4 years now), I've not had any rust or corrosion on any of my knives or multi tools. I also use a Tuf-Cloth for touch ups. I've used the stuff on all the tools in my toolbox as well, and fishing reels. It's about $7 for a small bottle with a needle applicator, and a little goes a long way. But, I guess using anything, even vegetable oil(so your food don't taste like wd40) works better than nothing at all.

I've used them all and finally settled on Miltec-1 as the best for my needs. The only time I use something else is to lubricate automatics, and I use Rem Oil for them.

Rem Oil period!!

youll not regret it!

or Mobil One if Murray comes along, anytime soon!:D

I use Inox for general rust-proofing and Tuff-Glide for lubricating pivots. They seem to wear well and I like the smoothness of Tuff-Glide better than anything else I've tried (although Miltec seems comparable).

I also use Tuff-Glide and like it alot. There are also alot of Militec fans here but I have yet to try it.

Militec used to give out free samples from their website, that's how I found out about them a few years ago. I don't know if they still do that or not, but it's worth a search.

I use anything :p Started with Rem oil, had some teflon stuff in a needle applicator, finally got some Tuf-Glide. Don't have any with me though, so I just bought a bottle of 3-in-One and some WD-40 (not to lube, but to clean and displace water, got a SERE nice and dusty/dirty during CTT:()

Is 3-in-One similar to CLP? Bottle says lubricates, cleans, and prevents rust. Seems pretty close to clean, lubricate, protect, don't it?

miltec...miltec miltec miltec. I used 3 in one and others, but miltec made all of my folders just awesome.

What's the best alternative for Militec for those who don't have access to it?
Tuff glide, a definite winner. I ordered some last time I bought a knife from NGK and I'm pretty pleased with it.

Militec-1 gives away free samples which are large enough to treat your knives many times over. There shouldn't be anyone who doesn't have access to it, just go to their website and request a free sample. Google militec-1 as I forget their exact url off the top of my head, it's probably www.militec-1.com or something. :)

Edited to add some info: That is the right link, but I don't see the free sample offer anymore. Maybe they stopped it? Or maybe I didn't search around hard enough. I ordered some free samples a few months ago and I have also purchased a bottle of Militec-1 oil that will last me the rest of my life if I just use it on knife pivots.
