Smoothest flipper in 200-300$ price range?

I own all of the knives you listed, the Helix is the smoothest without question. Their ceramic bearing system is insane. As for a Spyderco, the Rubicon is smoother and nicer than both the Domino and Southard.
My order of choice would be:
1. Helix
2. ZT 801
3. Rubicon
4. District 9

I really like my district 9 as well, but you had better be in the mood for a big overbuilt knife if you go that route. As for the Rubicon, once you get past the initial lock stick, she's a dream. If you want some comparison pics, let me know.

I for one would love to see a few pics. I've been on the fence about the Rubicon and Helix, but you make a strong case for both!

I have the zt 0561 and it is one of my best flippers. Ok guys I'm going to pull the trigger on the 0801. I might have enough for the southard too. Thank
You everybody!

You're welcome! Having the 0561 for comparison, you'll be even more impressed, as I found the 0801's I've had to be far smoother than 0561's I've had.

I have the ZT0561, and Spyderco Southard, and can verify they are both great flippers with the 0561 having more "authority", as someone else said, maybe due to the longer blade length than the Southard.

The bearings have quite a different feel between the ZT's and Spyderco's, I've noticed; even though they're similar in design. The heavy ZT blades do make for some very authoritative flippers!

Yes I agree, I think it was your videos on you tube that made me look into the Helix and district 9. Was that you?

Got it from BladeHQ a few months ago. It was a very limited release and they can only be found on the secondary market at this point. It was speculated that ZT re-purposed blemished 801CF models by stonewashing the entire knife. BladeHQ only received a handful of them, as well as 1 or possibly 2 other retailers at most.

Thanks for the support!

I think the 0801 flips better than any of the Hinderer ZTs (562, 566, 560). In fact, the only thing that I have that flips better than the 0801 is the 0454 (which is the best flipper I've ever touched) and maybe the 0777M390 and 0888M390.

If you like the ZT561, you will LOVE the ZT801. Have not purchased the 562CF yet, but looking forward to it.

I will put in another vote for the 0562 (I have the CF version, but I'm sure the other is just the same). It flips VERY nicely. Crisp, strong, and quick. I highly recommend getting one if you can find one. PM me and I can tell ya where some are in stock (possibly - they go fast at $210.00!!)
I would say it flips better than my 777, but that might be due to the larger area on the flipper itself on the 562. What I wished it had is the ridges, or jimping, that the 777 has. Just my 2 cents..

Zt 562, Reate anything ( I have a District 9), Brous mini division is very smooth and has a really nice flipping action.

I wanted a division flipper but ended up getting the reloader . I had some problems with it and tried to get a hold of Jason with no success. He has VERY bad customer service, so i decided i would no longer buy his products. Two years later and i still can't get him to respond. Too bad cause i really was interested in other models. I'm sure he's a nice guy but needs to work on Cust Serv.

I haven't handled too many flippers but the 0777 was pretty amazing for the brief time i owned one, i hope i don't have to spend that much money to get something that is that is close to that amazing or comparable. I'd like to try one of spyderco's flippers one day i'm sure they're pretty good.

I'm going to put the Brpus T4 in the mix. It flips amazingly well. I have a zt 0560 and a southard. The edge goes to the T4 in the flipping category.
