I just re-purchased a caly 3 with carbon fiber and MAN does it go into and out of the pocket nice. No pocket shredding whatsoever. Opens smooth, glides through what you are cutting. Just a real smooth knife in all ways. It's even smooth clipped to the pocket, you can barely tell it is there with just the wire clip sticking out.

What's your favorite non-pocket shredder?

If you've got another style of knife that is just a joy to use feel free to include.

Maybe a slipjoint that is easy to open and feels good in the pocket. Or a great carrying fixed blade set up.

What's your favorite comfort knife?

I had the Caly3 in VG10 and man I miss her. That was one of the best cuttin locking knives I have owned. It was pretty to look at also.

I can't even tell my small sebenza is in pocket. I briefly lose it a few times a month, but all I have to do is go look in the last jeans/shorts I had on. Its always there.

The tip up clip and small size also makes it smooth on the hand when you need to get in pocket.

My mini-skirmish used to shred my poket but now it slides down super smooth but doesnt fall out too easy...just perfect!

Your going to think I'm crazy but, I love the huge lip on Stride'rs clips. I lift the clip up to slide it on my pocket and out of my pocket. The huge lip let's my pointer finger get under it and pull it up the smallest amount, when I let go it snaps on my pocket like it's got lockjaw :D

For me its my EKI HD-7 with the smooth Ti slab it s(g)lides in and out effortlessly and with the wave it's ready as soon as it clears the pocket; oh and the action is just butter smooth- in a sense 'just perfect'.

The older discontinued Spyderco Calypso Jr. It's light as a feather and slices like a razor. The next closest though would be my Caly III. What great knives.

I am a little surprised by the Strider, but that is a smart technique to make it go in and out nice.

Pocket shredding factor just got real for me as about 3 pairs of my jeans just got knife clipping holes in the pockets at the same time and now I look like a hobo. :D

A hobo with a nice knife. :D

I hear you. I have a D2 Paramilitary that rough as hell on pockets. As long as I still have something to clip it to, I'm good!

+1 for slippies and the small Sebenza. The slippies just feel right, and the Sebenza disappears.

Mnandi is really easy on the pocket... also looks like a fancy pen when clipped... VERY NICE!

I've always found Striders and Sebenzas to be real pocket wearer-outers.

For a real smooth draw, and no fraying of my pocket, I love both my CF Caly3 and my old stainless steel Endura.

My Leek with polished G10 scales. It looks good, it feels good, it's light (the scales are substantially thinner than the scales on my other G10 Leek) and smooth. It's my knife for dressier clothes.

I have a small Spydie Wegner that's as smooth as butter, and completely unobtrusive in a pocket. It's the one I judge the others by.

Smoothest on the pocket and action!

I clicked on this thread expecting it to be recomendations for a smooth edc knife. I also happen to be all set with a nice little piece about the CF Caly3. :D

It's a lovely knife. Smooth CF scales with excellent jimping offers a great grip. The blade shape is perfect for edc. The wire clip burys the knife in your pocket nicely and doesn't mess with the grip. Of course, the ZDP-189 is just a cherry on top. I don't think I could think of a better light/moderate duty EDC steel. Absoluetly amazing edge retention. Although I still think S90V bests it.

I just got a Stretch II & it's gotta be one of the smoooothest knives I own!!;)

Of course slippies are the ultimate, but for clipped locking knives the Spyderco Kopa is my choice. The clip looks like what you might find on a nice pen, smooth finish (Black Quince on mine), and a real nice slicing FFG leaf blade that gets scary sharp with a few passes on the Sharpmaker:thumbup::thumbup:
I have my first Caly 3 on the way, and it looks like a slightly larger version of the same design, so I may have a new favorite shortly :D
