This whole discussion about getting the seb. smoother with the fine grit got me thinking.....
Why not just wash all of the lube out... (does it come lubed?)
and then, let the friction between the Ti and the washer smooth out the washer naturally.
Since I don't know the differences in hardness between the washer and the Ti, I guess I can't really say for sure how well this should work, but in theory.....
Well, it's just a theory.....
Thoughts? Comments? FACTS?

CRK uses a grease, you can still get it off.

But I wouldn't recommend running dry, because it will cause increase wear in more places than just the washers.

Facts: The washers don't turn against the Ti. The bearing surface is washer to tang (in addition to the bushing), and the washers don't move. Look at the washers when you open and close your Seb to verify this.

Some people use steel wool or polish to speed up the process. I believe your suggestion would work more slowly than steel wool or polish, but would still be faster than normal break in.

I've carried my small Sebbie for about 3 years, and it continues to get smoother over time.
