Snake Eats Croc

That snake has some appetite! Thanks for sharing

Happens to Aligators down south in the US. Anaconda's and pythons kept as pets, then released are destroying the environment. They are not native here.

Hard to tell from the pics, but that looks for all like a Green Anaconda! A South American species.

Tuff critters no doubt.
Probly takes a couple weeks or better to digest...
Wow!!

I've read the story in the news, but come on, the croc was only about 1 m (about 3,5 feet), a baby croc.

Man you have some "fun" stuff down there.

We have had similar incidents in the Everglades with Burmese Pythons released into the wild.

There was an incident in which a python burst after eating an aligator. Maybe she bit off more than she could chew. :D

The guy who posted that first vid said the snake died 3 days later from internal injuries. The one in Australia looks like it took an even bigger meal, so I wonder if it suffered the same fate...

Whoa.........I see a nice pair of Snake Skin Boots and Alligator Luggage with maybe a few Sheaths for some BusseKin......:D

Definitely not an anaconda - looks like an olive python.

I didn't see that in the video, but there are a couple of factors that would come into play...in that first video, the biggest problem I saw was that the alligator was still struggling when the snake had it swallowed to the rear legs. Odds are that he caused damage that led to the snakes death.
As far as the one in the original article - I would consider it an overly large meal...but probably not one that would kill the snake. (Barring any injuries sustained, the biggest concern would be whether the digestive system of the snake could deal with the croc's hide before decomposition gases caused the croc to swell)

I bet that snake didn`t need any Marmite to go with the toast next morning...:D

I have bigger lizards around my back yard pond than that little guy.... ;)

I can't see the front of the Snappy but I am guessing that as it is down near Isa it is a Johnson not a Salty, no matter either way that is one tough snake. 1m Croc is still tougher than a 1m human if you get my drift...!!!!!!! :(

that's crazy! and kinda awesome. I saw a video of a snake in south America eating a baby hippo. it was nuts I think it regurgitated it and died no long after but the fact that it tried was still pretty nuts! watched a show on discovery I think, not long ago about problems down in Florida with people releasing captive African rock pythons and Burmese pythons. they breed in the wild and have created a huge and overly aggressive sub-species that's causing a lot of trouble apparently..
