I've heard that snakeskin only came in regular slabs, but then I've seen references to snakeskin magnum slabs. How many knives were made with snakeskin magnum slabs? And does Busse continue to produce batches of knives with snakeskin, or just one-off customs now? Thanks

I don't think any were made... if you saw mags it was probably a mistake.

the snakeskin stock is dwindling... so I guess we're seeing the last of the customs with it.. too bad, it's one of my favs!!

Here's busse's blurb:

"The Snakeskin micarta handles were discovered accidentally and cannot be duplicated. Not only have we tried to duplicate this unusual layered look with several different manufacturers who claimed that duplication would not be a problem, but several other knife manufacturers have tried quite unsuccessfully to duplicate it as well. Once our supply is used up, the Busse Combat original Snake Skin micarta will not be an available again."

All of the above...

No MAG SNAKESKIN.....cause if they were ever made I would have them:D:D:D

The mags on that sabre are exactly the mags on mine. They are the older TigerHide and beautiful. Matter of fact, that is almost an exact replica of my knife.

There was one knife that appeared to have Magnum Snakeskin. It was HOFSH #411 owned by 500JefferyDK:

Notice how different the colors are between the two examples.

I believe they were represented as magnum snakeskin.

Maybe I'm wrong, but the colors look similar to me. Either way...they're all beautiful.

Oh, and T...thanks for the edit, brother.;)

WOW! That is Snake on the HOFSH LE:eek::confused:
It wasn't a Tiger that had been freshly oiled is it? My FBM LE looked just a little like that when I oiled it once...but not near as much like Snake as that.

Do you happen to know the storey on that one Rick?

So, Snakeskin Micarta is layered canvas in different colors..right?

Why can't the same sequence of colored canvas be layered again?

I mean, I could look at a SS handle and tell you the sequence of colors....

Can someone explain to me why it's not reproducible?
