Hey guys! I have a repost here for those who are interested. This one is one of my personal favorites in terms of fit and finish and it's comfortable too! I chose to go with some Snakewood I had drying out and that is finished to 800 grit and finished with Boiled linseed Oil.
Here are some more specific specs:
Blade steel: 1/8" 1084 from NJ Steel Baron. It has been heat treated to 56-57 RC for easy sharpening
Blade finish: 400 grit satin finish (There are two scratches that happened when I put the handle on. Luckily they are hard to see!)
Edge: Taken down to .015" (+/- .002")
Handle: Snakewood with an 1/8" pin and a 1/4" tube (stainless)
Epoxy: West Systems G-Flex Epoxy
OAL: 7 3/16"
Blade length: 3 1/4"
Sheath is Vegetable tanned leather (6-7oz) from Tandy Leather. It has been Dyed Dark brown and double stitched with waxed polyester thread. My makers mark is on the back.
