The grindening has begun. I should have a WIP thread up in a month or two.....

I just blew my nose and no black shit came out....so my cheapie mask/vacuum combo is working OK. Gotta dig out my NIOSH mask. Also gotta figure out the tight radii (math word) that I drew on there and how I'm gonna grind 'em....might pick up the Dremel stand at HD. sLowe's sells them a little cheaper, so that's 10% off the sLowe's price for HD's price matching guarantee. Every little bit helps. Plus I know the folks at HD.

So, you guys wanna hear something strange? This worries me a little. Never had anything like this happen.

Last night I didn't sleep very well, I'd conk out for a hour or so then up. Stomach was upset, so I was between my bed, the couch, and the shitter all night. Had a very labor intensive day working and was just beat tired but couldn't find that deep sleep. Plus, anytime I did sleep, I had this very vivid strange dreams that woke me back up. Anyway, fast forward to morning. I get up, get ready to head to the shop. My wife calls me to see how I feel cause she know I was up a big portion of the night. She asks me. "Where did you go last night?" I ask her what she means by that. She said," you drove my car last night. Where did you go?" I asked, "why would I drive your car when I got my own I wouldn't have to put out of the garage and why do you think I drove it in the first place?" Turns out, her keys where taken out of her purse. And the seat and the radio station both where set to my settings when she got into the car this morning. She also said.she had gotten up to use the rest room during the evening. Noticed I wasn't in bed, looked for me on the couch and noticed I wasnt there but didnt think much of it, just thought I was in the shop....... this is a little unnerving. I swear I havnt touched her car for over a week, I didnt leave the house last night, and it couldn't of been a thief. The doors where all locked from the inside and id never heard of a thief that came in and got the keys and then brought the car back. I've heard of wierd sleep walking stories but I have never experienced them.

What gives?

Check your meds. If you recently started taking anything new, that might be the culprit. For many drugs, one of the side effects way, way, way down the list is sleep walking.

Late one night, when my sister was visiting, I was still up around 3am, she showedmup in the kitchen, pulled out the leftover enchilada verdes and heated up /ate the last 2. We had a conversation. She went to bed. The next day at lunch, she put dibs on the enchiladas (we were having a leftover cleanup meal). When she couldn't find them, she asked where they were, I told her what had happened. She had no clue about doing anything after going to bed. She said that explained the missing food at her house over the previous week.

Turned out it was one of the meds she had started taking. She got yanked off them pretty quick after she found a MickeyD's shake cup on the table one morning - yep, sleep driving.

Thanks zz, and yes, I am taking something new. I am terribly prone to pneumonia. About killed me a few years ago. Started feeling the symptoms right before the gathering so doc has zapped my with antibiotics that have been kickin my ass for days. I called the doc and told him this stuff, he said he wanted to see me immediately. On my way now.

Todd- I hope it's nothing big and the doc can straighten you out.

I work with a guy who tells a doozie of a story about one night when he was taking a sleeping pill, got up, went to the piano, played it, made up a song, and tried to walk out of his apartment to go to McD's for a diet coke. Fortunately his roommate recorded almost all of it - because my coworker doesn't remember a bit of it.

We moved a little over two years ago, and about four or five months after the move, I went to sleep in my room, next to my wife, in our bed. I woke up in the middle of the night on the couch. Had no idea how I got there. Freaked me out. I spent days wondering if this was going to be a new habit and worried about where else I was going to wander off to in the middle of the night. Fortunately, it either only happened that once, or I figured out how to make it back to the bed!

There's a stand-up comedian that has those night terrors where he acts out his dreams while he's asleep, something to do with a chemical your body makes to paralyze you while you sleep just so that doesn't happen. Anyway he told the story about how one time he was staying at the La Quinta Inn in Walla Walla, WA (just across the state line from my hometown actually. I know the hotel he was talking about.) and had a dream where he was in some kind of government war room and they were tracking a missile that was targeted on him specifically and it couldn't be stopped. In the dream he figured if he wasn't going to make it he could at least get away from everyone so they wouldn't be blown up too. so he dove through a second story window and started sprinting across the lawn when he realized he was dreaming and woke up. He had to walk into the hotel cut up and in his underwear and explain to the desk clerk what had happened. After that incident he got on medication that keeps that from happening but still sleeps in a zipped up sleeping back with oven mitts on. I probably would too.

I used to sleepwalk as a kid but apparently that's not uncommon.

Just checkin' in and saying hi. Busy busy busy. This saturday I'm organizing a quiz for the benefit of the Lifesaving club I'm part of. Lot's of work. LOTS.
Have been winning a national contest at my financial institution (the largest in my country) so there's a lot of diners with high rolleres here and there. Of course, the day job has to be done as well. Stuck in the middle :). I hope stuff calms down after next week. Really need to chop sum' wood to get my mind off things.

what u talkin' bout WW?

Above they are talking about how medication could be responsible for sleep walking/driving.

I avoid pills completely as much as possible. I dont even take tylenol, the only pills i might take is antibiotics, and thats ONLY if i have already tried natural antibiotics and not had any luck yet.

But i eat lots and lots of onions, cayenne, garlic, honey and cinnamon just because i like all that stuff. Not a dinner goes by that i dont have cayenne, onion, and garlic in it.

On the rare occasion i do get sick i add some echinacea , coconut oil, ginger, olive leaf oil etc. depending on whats wrong and try and ride it out.

Had that upper GI series last week, they said what i already knew that i have acid reflux.. And they want me taking the generic form of prilosec. Not going to happen.

It may help heartburn but these are the side effects....

LMAO.... Id rather have heartburn.

Got my two dog stove yesterday, just getting around to take photos. Stove is 11x11x18.

Side view. This stove comes with a side shelf, but I don't have it on there, as I won't be using it:

Door opened. Fiberglass gasket, and screen welded over the vent holes:

Inside. They welded a baffle over the exhaust hole, to retain more heat, and aid in cooking. Also steel bar reinforced:

My hand on it, for a feeling of size. Remember, my cabin is just 8x12, with insulated walls. Not gonna take much:

Bottom. Legs slide right in the slots:

Very nice little stove. Am very happy with it, and look forward to using it. Should give me many years of use.

Great looking stove W! Make sure you fire it up outside first, at least once, to burn off the paint fumes. I know they probably used some kinda heat resistant paint but there will still be a significant amount of out gassing. Just sayin..
