Got this dune buggy project. Been struggling to figure out how to get the fiberglass hood off. Joined a dune bug group on facebook and they helped me out! Looking forward to being able to work on it. VW owners are allot like beckerheads, some of the most helpful people on the web!

Storm has moved through. No roof damage and the power stayed on. The high winds and blowing snow did manage to create a 70-car pile-up on a major highway about an hour north of here. More storm-like conditions expected tomorrow!

The bourbon is a congratulatory refill from a very supportive Vermonster friend. My new favorite bourbon. There's also a sweeter cordial one from another VT distillery that is different-amazing.

Those are all vintage cast iron that were delivered smooth-ground on the inside from the factory. They're all about 1/3 lighter than similar-sized Lodge pans, and out-perform them in every way except in being heavy, sticky, and slow to change temp. The particularly shiny #3 was apparently chromed on the outside?? Very odd.

could be worse - Ohio, Iowa, and Nebraska come to mind.

but yeah, from Hays west it gets pretty stark and doens't really pick up for the first 100 or so miles in Colorado.
depending on when you passed through Topeka, you were either 20 miles south of me or 4 miles north....
