Anyone figured out a way to turn that pluckable foam into a more solid piece once you get it shaped?

Stuff makes it easy to customize cases, but then if your not careful pieces get loose or come off and then it just doesnt look or fit as good....

Im thinking maybe use some spray adhesive and spray the entire bottom side, that or if it gets sticky when heated maybe i could use a heat gun and melt it just enough to make it stick back to itself... Both come with risk of ruining the foam though.

Dunk - on the stones sliding, you can do like AC said and put a towel under it and push more lightly.

Or you can do the complex solution I came used - I took a short piece of 2x6, traced out the base of the stone rack on the 2x6, use a hammer and chisel to remove about .25" or .33" from the board where the base trace is and glue strips of inner tube to the bottom of the board. The rubber prevents sliding as the stone base sits nicely in the chiseled area.

Or glue strips of inner tube to the bottom of the base.

Never say I cannot find a more complex method by which to solve a simple problem. :D
 
Awesome stuff!! Although i really wouldnt be comfortable being the guy getting lowered down...
