That recurve is a definite turn off for me but wow that knife has a serious gut on it!
But the desire to replace my bird dog is strong with this blade.

Looks cool. Is that about a 3" blade?

If it is a 3" knife then it is about a 3.5" handle. At that size it would be hard to hold especially with the handle shape.

Blade shape would make a great skinner. CF or satin Elmax would be a great steel for this if that is the case.

I love it Jerry.

I for one can see a lot of skinning uses for it.
But then again I have actually skinned a thing or two ;)

Anyone ever see or use the Pork Bellied Skinner ?
I have and it works great for what it was designed for, chopping not so much.

Very cool design. It’s really hard to say without holding it, but I’m guessing that in hand it will be very comfortable and provide great leverage for skinning.

I need a good skinner. I'll get one of these. Curious of the blade length and really hope the handles have solid pins so I don't get guts in the holes and have to clean them out.

Well, it turns out that April Fool's day is now over and so is any opportunity of EVER scoring a Mike Thourot, "Real Deal".

April Fools!!!!

My 8 year old son Paul drew that wild design up and even though we were trying to goof on Mike, the design ended up looking pretty cool, in a "Disney Cartoon" kinda way!

Nice job Paul ! ! ! !

I hope to have pics up within the next couple of days of the actual Thourot knife.

I'm certain that Mike is going to love this thread. He won't get to see it until he comes into my office today. He has no internet connection in his cave. . . or electricity. . . or running water. . . .or light. . .

Let's Drink!

I hope he has a hole dug for his used toilet paper if he doesn't use it for fires!

On the actual knife, are we going to see pointy stabby or bigboy choppa? How about some raw fresh off the grinder timeline pics?

Funny it may be, but I've seen some out there not far off of that. I wasn't sure how the spine scallop and saber came together but there's nuttier designs out there.
