For a quick overnight tomorrow am..

managed to fit everything except my bedroll into a butt pack

figure I;d share my kit for this trip

here's my water and cook kit ( a coffee billycan, a stainless cup and 2 nalgenes(

Emergency kits
first aid kit (also some higene items) and some emergency items space blanket, bandanna, compass, repair kit, and my necklace kit (fox 40 whistle bsa hotspark, striker, capsule of pj cotton, Inova photon micro led)

FIre kit the one on the left consists of pj cotton, jute, matches, lighter, and a misch rod
the one n the right goes intot he pouch of the bk7 and is my primary fire starting kit

I like that small pack. Looks like a good slimmed down setup. How will you attach your bedroll?
 
Might carry it on a shoulder sling? or just bungee it to the pack..If it was warmer I could slime her down more ,,but weathers dipping into the 20s at night still so The little bit of extra gear goes a long way as a safety net.

Yeah, when it warms up enough it will be nice to just carry a woolie or a poncho liner instead of a bulky bag. Are you planning to practice any skills in particular or just gettin out?
 
depends how much snow is up there.. wanted to sleep in a snow shelter.. or at least a natural one.. but we'll see.. maybe some fire craft.. Going with a friend he;s a plant guy so I might pick up a thing or 2,, he wants to learn some traps, and cordage making so if the conditions are right we might get down on some of that..
 
Careful postin pics of that pack Riley, you dont wanna get pegged as an ultra lighter around here :p:p:D.

Tony, Up to Harriman... But I don;t know where yet..I'm going with my nephew... the wierd thing is he;s only a year younger than me... but it;s his turn to pick the location.
