Sneaking them in!

Some of you guys are real sick:D Might need to work a 4th step about it?

My old lady is doing the school thing which means the not working thing. She complains but it is MY money. She can appreciate a pretty knife though. She has a Buck/Hartsook on her keychain and use to EDC a UTx70 D/E. Lately I've been breaking it to her by posting a pic on myspace of what will soon be arriving.

Single bank account. I earn it. She spends it. Since she's the one doing the spending, it's easier if she keeps the books. We've tried having me keep the books, and its a harassment to us both. So she keeps them.

So hiding a purchase is not really possible. And from my point of view, not desirable, either.

I guess I got lucky and have a great wife who doesn't mind, as long as I don't over-indulge. Over the years (25 last year), I've gotten a lot of things that she didn't think were practical, that ended up being very handy later. So she cuts me some slack.

once or twice a year i plan on buying a lot of knives or car modification parts. when i am about to do this, i open a po box and have everything shipped there.

"But honey, I've ALWAYS had this. You mean you don't remember???"

:p

That only worked for a little while.
NOW she knows each and every knife I have, and the names of practically every one of them.
I have a friend who is female who cannot tell the difference between most of them, but it IS more fun having my wife able to have a decent conversation about knives.

I made the mistake of showing the wife a picture of a 'Sebenza' that I wanted (along with the price)

Now every one of my knives is a 'Sebenza':(

That's why you've got to show them the Sebenza, and it's price, and then rant about what a bargain you're getting when you buy a Native CF/4. :D

It's the old joke, "I showed her a Corvette and she let my buy my Mustang."
