  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Sneek peeks of S-curve

A knife that has drawn human blood like that develops a taste for it, and can no longer be trusted. It should immediately be sent to The Institute for Vicious Knife Disposal where it can be dealt with properly. I just happen to run the institute as a non profitable entity. Address upon request.

Such a gorgeous blade. I'm all kinds of jealous! Rick's work is fantastic, and the extra history in this piece makes is really special.

Sorry to hear that it bit you. How are you explaining this injury to colleagues and students? ;)

By the way, the blood on the knife in that photo looks pretty fresh to me. Did you slip while cutting, give yourself a nasty slice, then stop to take a photo of it for the W&SS crowd, and only then wander off to seek medical attention? If so, you get extra man points for this one.

All the best,

- Mike

Always best to tell the truth, so I indicated it was an accident while wood carving.

As per freshness .... we'll I'm no fool. I took care of myself first, stemmed the bleeding and slapped a bandage on my finger first. Raising my finger up in the air (hands above my head) and holding onto it with a towel did the trick in about 2 min. Wilderness first aid did come in handy on this one :D

Seeing that it is Friday the 13th and there is a flu epidemic about, I may play decide to leave early today and take my chances with the outdoors.

It should never have bitten you!! That makes it defective. How could Rick turn out such a careless piece of material?!

You should send it to me so that it can be properly disposed of.

:D

Rick's knives are always a joy to look at. I bet they're even more fun to use.

Mike... I'll be smelling coffee all day now.... LOL!

Too good, bro:D

Ken,
Great pics and kind words. I look forward to the woods pics. Get a strap rigged up to show off that baldric set up, too. I'm all goosebumpy thinking about it. I'm more excited about the sheath at this point.

Ken came over the other night to pick up the knife. He brought his wife with him. She and my wife hit it off well... they gabbed most of the night while Ken and I snuck off to the shop to play with sticks and stones. Whenever he comes over, I feel like all I do is run around and show him stuff... "Lookit this Ken.", "Checkout this rock I found", "Did you know that...?", "Do ya wanna see what else I working on?"... poor Ken folows me around as I talk his ear off but he's a patient guy and humours me.

Thanks for the post.

Rick

beautiful knife and great character slabs on it too! I hope to own a knife as special as that one day:)

Congrats on the awesome blade Ken, sorry to hear about the finger !

I wonder if this knife will be ' The one ' for you ? Looks like it would come pretty close for me !!!
