Hi guys

Im searching for a new robust EDC knife but which Is not insane in size and weight. Just like a SNG but max 300€ or an Spyderco Techno just bigger. I already have the PM2

Id prefer sth with thumbhole

Does someone maybe have experience with the new Sacha thiel Officer v4??

Thank you
2pac

I think the hardest part will be to find a knife of that size with as low a weight as the SnG. The design is makes it very light.

Grayman Dua or Three Sisters Forge Beast maybe? If you can live with thumb-studs, they are roughly the same size and price and many options to choose from.

I'll echo what jstrange said. Especially Three Sisters Forge. I had a Beast years ago and fully regret getting rid of it. Awesome EDC size and weight. And tough as nails. I think I need to order another...

I'll also go along with jstrange. I've had both, and liked both. However, I still have the Dua. It's personal preference though. They're both great.

The Viper Fortis. A great alternative with better steel and more cutting edge at half the price. Different blade shape, though.

Although I don't have one, Southern Grinds always reminded my of my Strider. Think it's the handle shape.

The new spyderco shaman sort of has a strider vibe to it.

Also the Pohl force Mike framelocks have a similar construction to the sng.

If you can edc a dlc blade, the Cold Steel American Lawman is similar in size, weight, and strength to the Sng. And a tremendous value. If you want an uncoated blade, the CS Ultimate Hunter is an excellent edc, heavy user knife. Durable and good ergonomics.

ok here's a pic of the Officer. Reminds me of something. I'll get one I think :)

Looks as if the Shaman, Strider and the CRKT Amicus had a meeting and came up with this. It's the best of all three worlds. Really hard to find. He has somehow taken the concept that simple is much harder to design due to the fact that there are no additional design features to hide behind. I think he has done an amazing job. Their are two knives on my Xmas gift list to myself the Thiel Officer V3 & Laconicco EZT. I am selling off my higher end production knives and moving up to midtech. I am staying away from full on customs because of all the horror stories that I have seen on BF.

I really like the look of this knife but for this money id like to see a powderd steel... does anyone have longer experienece with N690 tho ??
I have the Steel Will Gekko's small, and large both are the N690. They take a great edge and are similar to 440 or VG 10. I am very happy with both Gekko's. I actually use it for hard work and all I do is give it a nice stropping when I get home. If you maintain it properly it will serve you well.
