sng

Looks good Tony. Is there any certain type of scotchbrite you used or are they all the same?

Different strokes for different folks. I had an SnG and while it was undoubtably tough, it just didn't feel right in my hand at all. I wanted to love it, particularly because it is relatively expensive, but I ended up trading it away. I know lots of people love them, but be sure you handle one before you buy it.

If there are a lot of people interested, perhaps you should consider asking for a passaround in the passaround forum. I really wanted to like the Strider PT, but it was too small and for me, the clip REALLY got in the way. But after handling it, I was pretty confident an SNG would work well for me. So I got one, and I am pretty happy with it. The moral of the story is: Passarounds are great for knowing if you're going to like or dislike a reletively $$$ knife. FWIW, I've had 4 Sebs that I sold off at one time or another, but the SNG is a user and isn't getting sold.

I have the Tarani and the sng and I love them both, but I love the sng way way more. I fell in love with a friends and then got my own. For some they wont like the handle or width. However I do like it and its built like a tank, it screams to be used and used and used. So yeah like some have said if you like the Tarani you'll love the SNG.

I've used the green pads for similar tasks and they work fine--just water and the pad. TonyCCW did a real nice job.;)

I believe you read my review on the reviews forum, right?
Really, only you can answer this question. Are you okay with one side being all titanium? Do you like framelocks? Take a look at all the features and then see what you think. It's going to be a little thinner too, which for me is a GREAT thing. Take another look at my review, and if you have any more ???? feel free to email me.

Have there been runs of SnG's with different-colored scales?

Mike

Yes, besides the normal black there has been some made with Ranger Green or Coyote Brown G10.

thanks for the picture Tony... how did you scrub for thirty minutes without cutting your finger off ?

I used the Industrial brown ones. But the Green ones works just as well.

Easy. I kept my fingers away from the edge...

i prefer the AR myself but then again i like big knives, and its certainly big.

since i got an AR recently i now want a SnG, all striders are darned good albeit big knives, though some folks dont seem to care for the owner of strider i dont recall anyone saying that his knives werent top notch.

Well, I did it. (Still can't believe I spent that much $$$)

The SNG Plaza Cutlery sent is perfect as far as I can tell. The blade is centered and locks tight. The fit and finish are very good. I like the forward choil... allows me to really choke up on the blade.

Drop point, or Tanto?

I've been watching Triple Aught Design for a drop-point, but they don't list any in-stock.

Mike
