Sniper Bladeworks: LPC Lance Personal Carry - Full Titanium
This is a full size LPC - 9.5 OAL, Blade is 4.32 by Lance Abernathy and Jody Muller of Sniper Bladeworks. Original Retail: $795 + Tax..... SALE PRICE is $OLD, which includes Free Shipping and PP fees.
Handles are full Titanium. Show side has been anodized a two tone bronze/purple. Depending on the lighting, you get one or the other. The groves on the show side are bead blasted, the entire lock side is also bead blasted. The blade steel is CPM S30V and has a really cool and very subtle ghost flame pattern. I have never seen another LPC blade like it. Lock up is at around 25%. Blade is just about dead center. There is no play in any direction. The knife is not even close to being broken in. Despite that, it opens relatively smooth, but will get better as it breaks in.
The edge on this was done by Josh at REK and is razor sharp, it has been carried, and there are some snail trails on the lock side and the pocket clip. (See last picture) It has done very minimal cutting, some paper, and a little cardboard. I will let the pics do the talking.
The knife was purchased off of Lance's table at NYCKS in 2014. It came with no pouch or paperwork. This knife won 'best tactical knife' at Blade 2013.
The pivot has No loctite;i t was removed so once the break in period is over, you can set it at the best spot. The knife actually has a small flipper tang. Not sure how well that will work once the knife is broken in. This is also the latest build, with the much larger pivot screw and scale screws, which are a T10. Solid knife. The older models have a very small Torx pivot and scale screw that just don't work well on a knife this tough.
The edge is monster sharp as well.....Josh at REK to put a perfect edge on it. Some of these custom makers and their edges are just not that great....never understood that....He just reworked the apex to a perfect 20 DPS that is razor sharp. The Anodized is a bit of a finger print magnet, but it's really cool, and works well with the knife. The very subtle ghost flames on the blade where done by Jody Muller (the other half of SBW) and are perfect in how subtle they are as to not effect cutting ability.
It is a fantastic knife, with second to none ergonomics.
The LPC model(AKA Lance Personal Carry) was designed to incorporate more combat oriented features into a knife of slightly larger physical dimension. The LPC features a modified drop point blade, an incredibly ergonomic handle including a canted handle to blade geometry that makes the LPC ideal for thrust and snap cut style defense actions.
