Torn between the 2. I have a wetterlings now and it is good...had some handle issues with fiber and grain. But overall it is a nice axe. Now I want something bigger. I was leaning towards the Wetterlings because I could get one at a decent price now...it is out of stock and who knows when it will be back. So S&N is my second option. It looks pretty damn good!!! Has anyone had either or even both to compare?

I don't have a Wetterlings.

I have several S&Ns.

The S&Ns I have are older ones, and don't know about the rumors of their quality going down.

The ones I have I find to be very good tools. The grain on the hafts isn't perfectly aligned, and they do tend to be softer than some other makes -- won't hold an edge as long, but are easier to sharpen and touch up.

I have found the SN for 49 bucks with free shipping!!!! I had an opportunity to get a Wetterlings for $59 but it is now out of stock. My other wetterlings was very sharp (19") but the handle was pretty fair...fibers and grain issues...splinter city! I wonder how sharp the SN come out of the box? Also I wonder what the HRC is for hardness between both axes are. I really did want the Wetterlings. Hesitation is a fools holiday.
