Snowshoeing again - a cold one!

I'd really like to know what that's like. Looks like a sort of fun:cool:

Seems like you were wearing/carrying more clothes last time?

wonder why Mufflon doesn't make pants? or I didn't see any.

Enjoyed the pics thanks; stay safe

A couple of the layers were thicker this time... like Jac-shirt vs a regular wool shirt last time, so I didn't need to wear the outer wool jacket (by Mufflon) until I stopped for a break. I think I was working a bit harder this time too, as I was alone. Last time my wife was with me.

Great stuff as usual buddy !

Have ya tried the oiled tin cloth pants from Filson, I've been thinking about selling a kidney and trying some of those ?

Where did you buy your honey stove? The only place I've found them is the UK, which means shipping is pretty insane.

Walkabout, please excuse:
JGON, you might try BePreparedToSurvive.com
I have ordered a ton of items from John & Denise, I know they have either this exact stove or similar models.

Walkabout, good to see you again . . . :)
Be safe.
p.s.: Sorry, just trying to help out a fellow forum member . . .;)

one of the significant differences between the honey stove and the ones on this site
is that the honey stove has a cutout on bottom "shelf" that holds a tragia(or similar) alcohol stove
the trangia wasnt needed on the op trip but i used it just the other day
it has been terribly dry in missouri and windy to boot
last weekends hike there was no way i was gonna build a wood fire, just too dangerous
but it was cold enough i really wanted something hot
fortunately i had not only the honey stove but my trangia
no worries with the alchy stove for catching the woods on fire
unless, of course, i kicked it over...

Hi,

I don't have those, but I do have a tin cloth jacket. I think that material is better for the west coast, as it is more dry and cold here. Those pants would really come into their own in some dense, wet brush, where synthetics would tear apart and ventile isn't as durable either. With the jackets I find that if you're quite active you end up wet from sweat.

Excellent pics plus i always like to read about what other members wear for their outings!

Makes me want to take a couple of days off from work and head out into the woods, although the temps here are only about -5 to -10C.

Cheers buddy there is definitely no shortage of wet brush here so they might be just the ticket then.;)
