snowshoes

i stopped mountain biking since mid-december because of the snow and was happy to be back hiking again...now there's too much of it that it's almost impossible to hike so i bit the dust and bought snow shoes 2 weeks ago. makes a huge difference! i posted more pics in the w&ss forum: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=819462.

We did a descent off Lamarck Col from Darwin Canyon way back in 1974, where snow shoes would have been awesome ... our group made it intact due to following the ridge down ... we were pretty lucky no one ended in a crevasse.
 
You guys brought back a Scout memory.Every fall we'd have the boys build their own snowshoes for the upcoming winter campouts. Here's a pic of a pair I had in the shed from years ago:
