Snowy day in Giant Forest

Today I went up to Giant Forest in Sequoia NP for a short hike. I took my son and his girlfriend with me. She has lived here all her life, but had never been up there, and it is only a 60 mile drive from my house (and less from hers). We started at the General Sherman tree

And we took the Congress trail loop. Along the way we enjoyed the winter scenery

Some day I will see that place. That looks like it would be a blast in the snow like that too.

We stopped for lunch by the President

Right by the President is Chief Sequoyah, a nice picturesque tree

Next we went by the Senate group. I had my son and his girlfriend stand there for scale (no, this is not photoshopped, it is real)

To complete the Congress trail, we went by the House group (with my son and his girlfriend for scale)

Finally, the requisite knife picture. This was the first trip for my new one from Ray Laconico

It was a beautiful day, not very cold, and very very quiet.
