lol ok, so I'm guessing everyone here is ok with having a group named the Butterfly Brigade, and with the rules as they sit. We can still do a "points system" for bragging rights, though![]()
I do like the idea of a Benchmade group but what's point of the points system? I'm not familiar with the ZT subforum so maybe if you could explain how it works there, but it seems to me that this group should be about regular contributors to the subforum and general appreciation and promotion of the Benchmade brand. Groups like this, while certainly not direct representatives of the brand, are indirect representatives and I'm not sure it makes sense for the group to establish some system that essentially quantifies and ranks who is a bigger fan. Someone can have one Benchmade and think it's the best knife in the world from the best company in the world so I'm just not sure I see the point of the points system.
By all means, if I'm missing the point, please let me know. Puns are somewhat intendedbut my questions are definitely intentional so please do explain you're thinking on this.
I helped get the kai order going. We do have a points system, but it really doesn't mean much. No one brags about having more points than anyone else. If anything its more of a" hey this person probably knows something about kershaw and zt so I can trust their info". That's about it. Oh and it helps you get to know your fellow knife nuts!
Oughta run this by the sub-forum host (Benchmade) first.
Basically, the "points" are just that... points. As bad_juju said, they don't mean a whole lot. It is a cool idea, though.
