So Cali hike

I wouldn't mind going.
I haven't been on a hike in quite some time, and I've never been to the Bridge To Nowhere, although I have been to the Tunnel To Nowhere not far away a long time ago.
No better reason to get some new footwear.
BTW, can anyone tell me about the terrain? I can handle a hike, but clambering over boulders takes it's toll on me as I'm old, "portley", and the hinges don't work like they used to.

I can only tell you what I've read. Moderate to sometimes difficult trail, several creek crossings, rocky in some areas but not reading anything about boulders. Anyone have more details?

Hey guys sorry about not signing on more often . The hike is on and everyone is welcome. The plan is that we meet at 7;30 -7;45, I would like to get on the road at 8 sharp. Meeting spot thanks to Mike would be at

The hike it self shouldnt be hard but I would recommend to bring shoes that you wont mind getting wet. An extra pair of socks and shoes to keep in the car. Lunch and a min of 2liters of water i would recommend 3 as we dont know how hot it would be up there. It looks that the weather would be realy good for a nice all day hike. We are going to make stops on the way and a nice lunch break.
If someone needs more info or contect info. Emails me at sashaa1@hotmail.com
Please put in the subject SO CAL HIKE. It should be lots of fun, Im going to work on some friction fire which i need lots of practice with. If anyone wants to try something or show others please do.

can we confirm who is going please?

it's about an hour an a half for me and it'd be nice to have a group as big as last one...

We're coming.

To keep the hike rolling along I though I'd bring a new piece of gear for the frequent eaters in the group. ;)

A feed bag full of greasy KFC is the perfect :barf: backpacking :barf: food. Someone bring me a towel. :barf:

Of course there would be swimming............. At the first spot we see fast flowing deep water we shall push you in lol... Im sure you could take some time to swim during break. Or just a slip and slid when crossing the water..
Hey Jason are you saying lunch is on you???????????

Sasha

so far, it will only be 4, counting me.. :D

I'll try to get Victor to go too... I think he is still in recovery from last time :D

Hey Victor carried way too much weight even for me lol. Make sure he dont carry any canned soup this time. Do bring Victor over its always great to get new guys into the outdoors. There are some other guys that mentioned they going to show up for the hike as well. So i realy expect more people to actualy show up.

I may go I have two friends interested in going to. I just don't want to buy an adventure pass. Anyone else going who leaves near Rancho Cucamonga and looking to carpool?

The two of us are coming up from San Diego and have an annual pass, but our car only holds four. If we can safely leave some vehicles in the CVS parking lot, and someone has a vehicle that hauls a bunch of people, we can load up and just use one pass. The adventure passes are pretty inexpensive though...I think $5.

I doubt if I'll swim but just in case I'll bring this snappy little two piece number I've been saving for a special occasion. Need to get a little color on my muffin top anyway.

Sasha, if you want to buy a face bucket of KFC and chow it down for lunch I'll gladly pay for it...and if you can keep it down for the remainder of the hike I'll even buy you dinner. :)

All...don't forget to bring any new gear, knives, etc. for show and tell. I recently picked up a front-pack from RIBz (ribzwear.com)...the new smaller version...and this will be the maiden voyage. Also have a custom leather belt sheath waiting at the post office for a Vic OHT from vessleatherworks.com. mmmm...stuff is good!

Hey Jason as long as the two piece is body fitting tight outfit.
DriveBy come on down for the hike it should be lots of fun.

sorry... but i wasn't able to go... i twisted my ankle (really bad) playing soccer the week before and i thought i was going to be able to handle this hike...

i went to play soccer on friday night and everything seemed fine until next day saturday morning... i was not able to walk.. :D

next time for sure... i'll take care of myself...

i am waiting for pics...

Sorry it took so long, but here are a few pics.

Due to injuries, and that pesky time of the month, some of the guys couldn't make it. Was just Mike, Amy, and I, and we had a great time. Good hiking, good beer and Mexican food afterwords.

Let's get to the good stuff first. Bruce Culberson companion knife with new kydex sheath and Teklok, and Vic OHT with new custom leather sheath by Vadim (http://www.vessleatherworks.com). Everyone's wearing new pants.

Crossing the river (glorified creek this time of year) was kinda fun at first, but after a while we got dishpan feet. Out and back took something like 12 crossings. This one was shallow...deepest was just above the knees.

Typical of the terrain in this area.

Mike and Amy eating lunch next to a swimming hole. I tried taking a swim, but my boys didn't like the temp, and have to keep the boys happy.

And now for the real weirdness, a bridge in the middle of nowhere owned by Bungee America. Five mile hike one way through all those crossings to jump off this bugger.
