I saw one or two posts from Christina awhile back and before that nada for a long while.
Is this company still solvent? Is it still in existance?
Where are the moderators and/or factory reps?

I'd like to know if REKAT is bringing anything new out or should I get my butt out and get a D-2 Sifu before it and REKAT goes the way of Blackjack Knives, the dinosaurs and so on...

i think they are still around - have seen some ads in combat handguns, etc fairly recently - they just dont monitor this forum, except rarely - on a slooooooow day they might go, wonder whats happening on our forum?? and then they get angry 'cuz people are wondering WTF is up w/them 'cuz no presence on the forum - imho they just simply dont care about this forum - dont mean to offend, love my sifu, but they just dont think that this is a viable use of time.....

all this is just my opinion, so take w/a grain of salt

i offered to help moderate this forum for a chance to BUY a knife or 2 thats a prototype, early production, etc occasionally, and they never got back w/me, nothing, nada, so go figure - i already answer a lot of q's about phone #'s etc , but i am not gonna moderate for free but dont feel my request is outta line, i think it would help, if nothing else to instill confidence that they do have a presence on the forum, and value input, and want to provide a service to forumites w/problems etc- but they dont think its worth it i guess, maybe they are right, they should simply concentrate on designs, etc - its there show, who am i to say how thet should run it?

I just called them the other day and they sure sound like they're still in business. It would be nice, though, to see them around here more often.

I think that we will see an increased REKAT presence here at about the same time that their web-site is up and running again...NEVER?

I have also offered to co-moderate this REKAT Forum with the 2 REKAT ghosts, but...:(.

and please dont get me wrong, i love there product - i just wish they were like the spyderco forum, were input, etc is appreciated, and they jump thru there a$$es to make the customer happy - not to say REKAT isnt the same, of course.........

How about Rekat asking the forum members for suggestions in designing the next production knife to generate interest in the company? It should not be a "forum" knife since it may have limited appeal (and sales); it should be a regular production model that can get a larger audience and buying public interested. They could also partner with a popular knife designer and come up with a "collaboration" model. Hopefully, someone else can jump in and offer more ideas. :D

toothed,

Now...THAT is a good one! HAHAHAHAHAHA.:D.:D.

REKAT...Forums....I don't see 'em here. (Maybe they are hiding somewhere.)..

Based on the reactions from what I thought were staunch supporters of Rekat (especially the Sifu model), I guess Rekat is dead meat.

I thought that the finger grooveless D2 Sifu was a special edition "form" knife. I guess I was wrong again.

Any of you notice that 1SKS only has the savant on their web site? This might be something between Spark and Rekat. Obviously he's not giving them any space on his web site, which leads to no inventory kept. I gotta feeling we might not hear much from rekat here. Knife Outlet has their line up pretty much listed. Discount Knives still lists them, but they have almost all the discontinued models listed as well.

Hank:cool:

we dont hate REKAT - on the contrary we love them, just hate to have them ignore us - if nothing else they should get OL and BS w/us occasionally imho - let us know all is well, etc

i love my SIFU smooth handle, and it and my crawford custom kasper are the only 2 knives i own which definitly are not for sale/trade - BUT my sifu has been adjusted by bob, etc and is 100% right - when adjusted correctly, ya cant beat the darned thing imho - but, really for the $$ they charge all sould be adjusted properly from the factory imho -

but i dont hate rekat

I don't hate REKAT either--in fact, I was using my Carnie Cub today--but I can't see a compelling reason to get another one. I had to work on my Carnie for a few hours to make it right, and it seems like that's the norm. Not every company has to have Spyderco quality and customer service (hello, Benchmade!); let's shoot for reasonable.

Guess I'll add my 2 cents here that I hope things begin to pick up on this forum. My Sifu has been great from the start and is locking up better than ever.

I'd like to get another someday, as well as a Savant. But I'd like to see some participation here by REKAT!

REASONABLE?...I'd have to agree 100%...Reasonable would be for REKAT to give a damn about it's loyal customers (ME) by showing at least SOME presence here at THEIR FORUM, putting up a web-site, and maybe even putting-out a printed (paper) catalog.:).

But MAYBE that's just too much to ask?..

I like Rekat because some of their products are unique and not available as production models by other manufacturers. I wish very much that the company can continue as a going concern. If they are having problems in manpower, finances, or whatever, I encourage them to communicate with their loyal following--maybe we can help in some small way.

I love it! Glockman is seeing the Spydie light. He will be one of us shortly...

HAHAHAHAHA...I don't think so...I just traded-off my one and only Spydie (Dyad Jr.) for a Smiths' Tri-Hone Sharpener.:D.:D.

I have an odd fascination with the Carnivores: I want to like them, but for the dough, they seem a little rough.
But what is especially curious is that when ever I logon to BladeForums, I look to see who else is logged in, too. I see Christina's name frequently, but I never see any posts by her. I guess she is reading what everyone is saying about REKAT. Odd.

Barry H, the "Christina" you see logged on occasionally cannot be the Christina we all know. (Surely, the real Christina would respond to our posts). To the lurker signing on as "Christina": Who are you, really, and what have you done with the real Christina. (Alien conspiracy suspected). ;)
