So far so good.

I finally got myself up and running again, and, given my various limitations, I think everything is working out pretty well.
My anvil is a 35lb dumbell set in 80lbs of concrete. I was really worried that this wouldn't end up working, but it seems to be pretty good so far.

My forge is a Tim Lively design washtub forge. I don't think I mixed the adobe quite right, but it's working for now. It might be getting a little bit too hot, so I'm thinking about reducing the air flow some.

The only tools I have right now are a 2.5lb estwing german blacksmith hammer, a pair of pliers that I'm using as tongs until I finish the real tongs that I'm making right now (I'll have a picture as soon as I do), and a steel brush.
I haven't forged a knife in about six years — I'm not as good at this as I remember being (and I was never that good), but it's coming back to me and it feels really good to get back into it.
The Knife on the left is nearly finished with forging, and the one on the right just has the profile forged out. I'm using 1"x1/4" Admiral 1075/1080.

I'll post more as it comes.

Looking good!! I like the lively forge..... gotta make me one of those for road trips.

Nice blanks... the up-swept one looks HBC Camp knifesque.

Pretty sure the dumbbell isn't hardened. Also, aren't the sides(your top) kinda rounded? Does it make a very good anvil?

The dumbell isn't hardened, but this actually works to my favor because noise level is very important. The anvil definitely loses some functionality from its shape, but I think it will work fine for most of what I need it for.
