So...got my first Becker & have a question

...I am a BCCI Life Member myself.

Yeah, when time comes for renewal I'll move up to Lifetime as well. That is a good deal if you're into Bucks as we both seem to be.

The Knife Connection sells G-10 scales for Beckers. A little pricier than the stock Ka-Bar micarta, but they come in a variety of colors, including black.

OK! That is the answer. Love the black and blue G10. Will order a set of those. Thank you!

Congrats on the BK2. It is a beast and a great gateway Becker drug. Soon you will have a BK9, and either a bk14/11/24 and some type of tweener!

Post some pics!!! :D

I'll post a pic of my BK2 later. I had all my big boys out last night, comparing and such. Want to get a family portrait anyway. :D

And, yeah, no doubt that I'll own several other Beckers before I'm done. I'm certainly impressed so far.

Edit:
I'll probably stipple the existing handle as well. That looks good (reading the sticky on handle modding that someone pointed me to - thanks!) and I'll have 2 sets of usable handles when done. You guys are great and I am set. :)

great choice.. I like my BK2 as well. I use my BK5 the most though.

I see your from Chama, NM... I love that town. If I could stand the cold, I would love to retire there.... or maybe Cimarron.

Doc_Savage is a very cool handle. I have the entire series, collected one at a time over the years. :)

Believe it or not, I'm originally from S. La - just outside of New Orleans. Moving up here (early retirement) was a significant change (probably much like you moving from Fla. might be) but, you know, the temperature is not that bad. We have so much sun, even during the winter, that most days are comfortable especially considering the very low humidity. Night is a different story and temps can get low. Several nights a year will be sub-zero but the daytime warms up for the most part. And no need for an air conditioner during the summer.

I actually live a bit south of Chama in a 2000 acre community called The Ticonderoga. No close neighbors (I can barely see my closest through the trees). The community has 9 stocked ponds, a trout stream, about 15 miles of logging roads and almost 400 acres of community property. Lots of fun to be had by the residents. I feel like I'm constantly on vacation. I love this place.

A few pics of the land here, if I'm not boring folks too badly:
