How do you guys do it?
I see something I like and automatically "have to have it"

How do you control yourselves?

Procrastinate! :)

Don't even try to stop yourself -- that's too hard. Tell yourself okay you'll buy it, but not right away, in a while ... if you still want it.... :)

One of two things:
1) I get tired of the taste of catfood;
2) I get tired of the (hungry) cat looking at me like I'm a heartless, greedy basturd.
all da best,
rats...

That's what I do....
I have a 24 hour rule ( unless it's a great deal:) )

Make a budget. From your net income, subtract your necessary expenses and saving. What's left is discretionary. Divide that up among your hobbies. Don't ever go into debt for a hobby.

I am a knife USER... So I ask myself will I use it? Is it as good or better than what I have now? If yes, I get it and if no....than I pass.

Post a pic of the knife tempting you, that might help us......help you. :D

I go through cycles. One month I'll want fixed blades. Then another month I'll be focused on pocket knives. Another time I'll be fixed on tactical folders. Then I'll be nuts over custom knives. Then it's inexpensive stuff. then hawks, axes, and hatchets, etc., etc., etc... And, since I have enough money to monkey around and actually buy this stuff, now I'm flooded with blades. :)

Rational!! I Need One good folder and One good fixed blade. But it took me a looong time to get here. And...Can I stay here?? Right now, it's a Case Sodbuster and a Busse Warden. :)

that's easy. Very very few knives are better then a sebenza. I have a sebenza. So why waste money on lesser knives?

The check bounces!!! . . . Well not really!
I usually just find one every few months that I save up for as funds are limited.
