every time I get ready to list a few for sale that do nothing but sit in the cabinet I always talk myself out of it...

Why is it so hard to let them go?!? :D

Ever have a special female "friend" that's great in bed and after a while you decide it's time to move on but for some reason you just go back ONE more time-whew- and then....... you just go back ONE more time-ooooooh- and THEN........... well, you just go back ONE more time-aaaaa- and THEN........., ok ok ok that's it,IT'S OVER, time to call it quits before she get's emotionally attached(which she already is) --and you even tell her "IT IS OVER,WE HAVE TO STOP" but THEN............ you go back just for ONE more good time-"do I have any control over myself? I'm just such a HOG". This is a similar chemical reaction my friend, you are not alone

I don't know ... but threads like this are always a good way to highlight what you want to sell .... at least there is some "indirectness" about this approach ...

I guess if Jerry and Skunk do it .... your in good company ....

If everyone on the exchange did it though it starts to get "same old same old" ....

Personally I like to come on here to see some reviews .... usually using the knives sorts out which ones work best .... if you want to do a review of yours that would be cool .....:thumbup:

you mean the trusty ole bit of clever posting otherwise known as "I'm about to put some things on the exchange" announcement?

;)

Yes, you got it .... if you are good at it the threads can be interesting .... but the old "hard to let them go" line is well trodden ....

Even the "stripper" theme of partial "exposure" is a bit threadbare on "novelty" ....

What we need are some new ideas ....

Some sort of gameshow review process perhaps ...:D The Busse "X" factor ?? :D:D Select 4 knives you want to sell and take them through "tests" like a review and leave it for everyone on the forum to vote which one does best and the winner of the X factor gets to be "sold on the exchange" just when you realise how good the knife really is ....:foot::D:D

Don't feel too badly!! ...I can't tell you how many times over the few years that I've been collecting Busse's that I've decided that TODAY (well, not "today"...you get it) is the DAY to weed out a bunch of knives to list... I'll pull out some 20-30 knives and get ready to shoot them. Then it starts... Well, not this one...welllll, not that one...Aw man, this one is freakin' sweet...that one has sentimental meaning...this one I'll regret selling...blah, blah, blah... By the time I get them in front of the camera, there's only like 3-6 left!! :o:o

Addictions suck, don't they??? ;)

:D

I'm at one's house now.. she's in the shower

I have actually now sold or traded 5 pieces of infi.

I have 4 right now, and another on the way.

Always a bit of regret after you list it, and it sells.

Then you get out, give it a final polish on the strop, and say your good byes.

Then a too short drive to the Post office, and a sad drive home.

But then, a new, exciting piece shows up, and all is right with the world.

OK Imagine the girl that got away......... Jaxx knows what I am sayin......you guys are lucky you have Busse's. Life is denying me one right now..... but I will have 1 or 2 ...or 3....

this has been WAY more of an issue with me in the past year...and especially with my SFNOs!!

I keep attemping to pick out a few to part with for some wiggle room cash due to our crappy economy....but just CAN'T!!

noodlebowl lunches...... here we come for awhile!!

LOL Guyon ..... the impossible "all I need" dilema ....:D

I think I have narrowed it down to just "one" .....

"collection" that is .....:foot::D :thumbup:

I know the feeling, actually going through it the last few weeks. Then again, new steel makes me feel better too!

i say pay it forward. you've fondled and oogled the knives long enough. Trade'em or sell'em so someone else can admire their beauty.

Hey guys - thanks for the comments thus far and feeling my pain.

@Peter - I wish I had the time to do individual reviews of each blade and weed em out that way - hell, I dont even have time to use em all.

I guess part of the problem is that other than my RMD, TMDSF, NMSFNO and CGFBM, they all overlap so much that most of the negatives and positives all balance out for each...

My hardest decision is between the Skinny ASH and CG SARSquatch - one will be sold, but I've been trying to figure out which for a few months now...

The Tankbuster also throws a monkey-wrench into the mix bc its sorta a jack of all trades, but master of none... And do I really need a BWM when I have my CGFBM? They both fill a very similar role...

I'd dump the Skinny ASH and keep the Squatch. Amongst other reasons, the Squatch handle is much more user friendly IMO.

Also, I'd dump the TankBuster and skip the BWM as both are too redundant given the others you have already.

After that - looks like what you're missing is a small one, like a CABS or a Culti or a BAD or something similarly sized.

My ten cents...
