Threads like this pop up every once in a while. It's fun to see numbers (like mine) that keep changing. :D

I get the award for smallest collection! I have a total of 5, and all are folders. Working on building back up but it takes time. I don't think I'll ever have more than 20 though, as I would rather go for, what I perceive to be, quality over quanity. So far I have the following 5;

-Strider AR black handles
-Strider AR coyote brown handles
-CRK Umnumzaan
-Fallkniven PXL
-Boker Wharcom which is my most used knife!:eek:

Going to be adding a few Kershaws/ZT's to the mix down the road, probably a couple of slipjoints, a fixed blade or two, along with a custom folder or 2! But for now, it's just me and my 5 folders!!:thumbup::thumbup::D

Actually, there are and have been several others, but I regard them as items for sale or gifts, having no other need of or attachment to them.
Those on my list are the time-tested ones I keep coming back to. If necessary, I could trim this collection as well :( , but fortunately, don't have to :) .

About 250 by now I think. About 1/3 folders, the rest fixed blades and axes. Then there are the martial arts weapons (my knives are all tools).
 
Over 100 folding pocket knives, 2 Randalls, and counting. I had 2 new Kershaw Shallots but I gave them to 2 members of the Michigan National Guard as my way of saying thanks. Later, Bob
 
My wife, the other day, when I bought a Benchmade Mini-Grip "just because": "Why do you need another knife like that?" :D

So, of current knives, of good quality, that I use...

5 folders
1 fixed-blade
2 multi-tools
1 SAK

Beyond that: A variety of older and/or cheaper folders, in various sizes, that I no longer carry or use, and the sheath knife my father gave me when I was a young man. (Surprised I still have that after all these years.)

I don't plan to expand my collection much. My only plans are a small "gentleman's" folder for dress use; a fixed-blade rigger's knife for splicing rope, perhaps a folding rigger's knife, and a smaller sheath knife.
 
I'm gonna guess the 30-40 range. most of those aren't all that great, but I do have several autos and balisongs, as well as a few old-school Hibben throwers and several victorinox (the tinker is my favorite) and a couple kershaws.
T. Erdelyi, in the last pic you posted, of the rolled case laid out on the table, what is the sheath knife at the bottom of pic? the one with silver bolsters & guard. It looks very similar to one I picked up at a yard sale when I was little. I'm pretty sure it was some sort of boy's camp project knife.

It's some sort of German made childs Scout knife, it has Red Bone Scales and a compass that only orients itself in line with the knife, always.:confused:

I'll look later and take better pics and post 'em.

I don't want to count them. It would either cause me to get rid of some or get more. Inventory bad, enjoying one at a time good.

In all, about $8,500 invested in knives (and a sword), most of which I don't use! Does that make me a collector or an accumulator? Hard to say.
 
I am guessing in the 50 to 60 range all total. Values are like somebody else said, from the basically no value cheapos that came from who knows where to 400+ for others.
