And multi tools. Looking at it that way I must be close to 50 and I don't view myself as a knife nut, especially around here.

I think around 50, including the cheap ones.

Nice ones? Maybe 20, hehehe. Got to be careful though, if you use the knife nuts here as a reference point for how reasonable YOU are, you're still a nut to everyone else. ;-)
 
I only count what I carry. Even by standards on this forum, the number is ridiculous...and growing daily.
 
Just over 100 fixed and folders (mostly fixed), not counting kitchen knives, steak knives, boxcutters, etc. Add those in and we're probably talking upwards of 150.
 
I count folders and fixed blades, but not kitchen knives certainly, or most utility knives.

I had a disaster back in July where I lost many knives, but I think I now have probably over 100 still. I need to catalogue them again after the holidays. I've started cataloging them, but right now I've only got about 45 or so entered in, and I'm pretty sure I have another 50 or 75 to go.

I had over 300 until this past summer. I've sold, traded or given away at least another 125 or 150 in the past. I keep pretty good records, but I'm sure I've missed recording some over time. I probably have records for at least 90 or 95 percent of those I've owned.
 
I only count 23 as ones I use. Of those, 8 are in my regular rotation - for now, subject to change. I have a lot more, but I don't include them in my collection/accumulation. as they are either cheap knives, kitchen knives, or cheap kitchen knives.
 
Slightly north of a hundred for me--all folders and not counting kitchen or utility knives.
 
I have had about 80 to 100 at one time then sold most now down to 20 or so. An about 20 butter knives and 10 kitchen knives and 5 razor blades let's not forget I like to sharpen pry bars so they cut.. That puts back up to 60 or so.
 
Well, I know I have 8 butter knives and 8 steak knives. So I'm starting with 16 early. I'm going guess that means well over 100.

I don't have a problem

Over 100. Lots of kershaws, then graduated to ZTs...also a few benchmades, Spydercos, a cold steel, brous and WE. Kinda wish I started out with the ZTs and higher end knives tho...probly almost 10k altogether.
 
At the moment I have around 15 folders and 10 fixed blades not counting kitchen etc... Over the years I bought over 200 folders and 50 - 60 fixed blades. No grails no Queens, just users. All the others have been sold or given.
 
I'm at around 150. 55:45 Fixed blades to Folders. Not counting my kitchen knives, utility knives, etc.
And still I have my next 5 purchases all lined up and budgeted for.
But I can stop anytime I want to. :rolleyes:
 
I currently have about 50-60 knives in the collection, not counting anything from my early collecting days that I would be ashamed to show to a fellow knife enthusiast or kitchen knives/utility tools. If you included knives that I have being repaired, modified, pre-ordered, or otherwise on their way to me, that's another 15 or so.
I am trying to shrink down the collection to about 35-40 knives, though I'm not having much luck with that. It seems like every time one goes, another comes...I've had to keep a microsoft word document on my desktop to keep track of it all :D
 
I stopped counting a long time ago. My collection ebbs and flows. I've never sold a knife, but I've gifted dozens to people who needed one.

If I were to guess, counting my handful of decent kitchen knives, I would say I'm around 200 or so.
