So I didn't think I was going to like this knife, but...

It actually is one of the nicest feeling blades I have ever held. I got this in a trade and I am not a fighting knife type. To me knives are tools first and pure fighters are worthless to me. But this fighter is the best feeling blade I have ever held. I was going to flip it. But I might just keep it. At 1/4" thick it surely can do other chores. We'll see. How many of you have held one of these?

ooops, I forgot the pic, here:

In pics, I did not care to much for the angles and curves, but in hand it makes sense and that handle is near perfect.

That knife design Should turn out to have the same usefulness as a Bowie. I've said this in a previous thread. Bowies make good fighters, but are good general purpose knives..... It might be one of Busse's best and also underrated design....

finger grooved knives, in general, are underrated, IMHO...

The finger grooved SOB is one of Busse Combat's best ever :thumbup::thumbup:

Finger groove pluses:
+ aids grip from nearly every foremost to rearmost hand placement
+ great for reverse grips
+ helps with indexing & muscle memory when drawing & sheathing

Minuses:
- not ideal for "icepick" grip
- may look too "tacitcool" to some
- may be perceived as "threatening" to NKP...the Gil Hibben John Rambo bowies may be the foremost blades some sheeple think of when finger grooved fixed blades are referenced in any way

Now, as for the blade catcher, I am at a loss as to practical uses beyond it's intended knife dueling use? Can it open a longneck?

You might be right. Honestly, I have no need for the skull crusher and could do without it, but it could easily open cans and bust bricks, so it also has some use. This just might be the most comfortable handle I have ever had from Busse. I still prefer my BM's, because I am not a fighter guy, but this knife would surely draw attention anywhere you took it.

Not sure but I might be afraid to try, cuz I might stick myself with the blade upside down trying to do it.

haha...and the risk would rise incrementally with each longneck consumed until it becomes a foregone conclusion that you will end up in the ER before dawn

It's a nice looking blade. I've never held one, but I can say the same about my busse. They look better in person and feel great in hand.

And it came with an awesome sheath. Not sure who makes it though.

Thanks. I thought it was going to be a catch and release, but I think I am keeping it.

All that and an integrated bottle opener - what more could you ask for ? :)

I have yet to have any knife with finger grooves "fit". Some I could make do but that's not worth buying for. Reminds me somewhat of my NUCHeart variant. The blades is a lot alike and I love that knife.

Yup, I have not been a fan of finger grooves either. Somehow on this one, they work
