So I finally got a CZ

Both those sites are wrong. On B.S.G. the Cylon No. 5 used a South African Vector 9 pistol.

I had to confirm on my DVD. :)

I stand corrected. :p Once they had human cylons, and them having babies, I gave up. Just couldn't figure it out anymore.

I do have the 1970's one on DVD. :D

The new BSG was so different than the 70's version. I still like both! Even my wife is hooked on the new BSG ! :)

How does the 97 compare to a 1911A1? The 1911A1 is the standard by which I judge all other .45's.

Imagine a .45 ACP Desert Eagle.
Huge gun, very effective cartridge, but recoil is unrealistically low due to slide mass and over all weight. A joy to shoot, bring a gun bearer if it's a carry gun. :p

Hmm... I figured a CZ97 and a 1911 would weigh about the same. They're both full sized pistols and all-steel.

What got me thinking about a CZ97 as my next pistol was as much as I like my 1911's, I hate having to strip one down for cleaning. If a CZ97 is just a big .45 caliber CZ75, then it's basically a Browning Hi-Power on steroids, and the Hi-Power is a breeze to strip down & reassemble for routine cleaning & maintenance.

I like .45acp and 9mm Luger the same, but each for different reasons. All my auto pistols are either .45acp or 9mm Luger.

Before I got my new CZ, the 1911A1 was my favorite, and my pistol of choice for just about any application, simply because they handle and point so well for me. The Browning Hi-Power was a very close second.

The CZ75B is changing that. I love this gun! It's a sort-of Hi-Power with greatly improved ergonomics and feel. I haven't even had it a week and I can't stop shooting it.

The stainless steel CZ-75B is on my short list of possibilities for my first semi-auto. I handled a CZ-75B the last time I was in the local Sportsman's Warehouse and it felt great in my hand. Congrats on the new piece.
