Really liking the knife.

The +'s:
-Sharp as hell (sharpest from the box I've gotten).
-It deployed kind of stiffly, taking a lot of force and technique to get it out with no wrist action; loosened the pivot ever so slightly and now the thing practically jumps out.
-It makes a very unique semi-high pitched metal clanking sound when it opens and closes. I really dig it when it makes the sound while closing.
-Love the little bump/grind on the back of the blade about 3/4 of the way up the blade
-Ergonomics of the handle are pretty nice.

The -'s:
-The HAWK is a bit stiff to pull back (Maybe it will loosen up? Good idea to maybe squirt a tiny bit of tuf glide in there?)
-Wish the thumb ramp on the handle had some jimping; and the jimping on the blade (both thumb and choil) was a bit deeper and sharper. They don't give much purchase.

Nitpicks
-I kind of prefer the usual loud snap that is made by more traditional locks when the blade opens.
-Wish the front of the choil protruded a wee bit more from the blade

So to sum it up:
Thanks to Hunter and all the others for their PUSH THE BUTTON campaign :D

i love my ram as well, though i wish that the jimping was more agressive as well.

it seems to me like kershaws jimping in general is not all that agressive (at least on the 6 folders form them i own)

The RAM is definitely "on my list"

Thanks for sharing your opinion on the RAM. Just reinforces my desire to spend more $$$. ;)

The lock is "hard" to unlock at first, but then your raw thumb gets used to it ;)

One of the guys here took off the front scale and removed one of the two springs for the lock--a lot easier to unlock, and it seemed to be just as sturdy. May want to give that a try.

I have a ram and i love mine. The lock will loosen up over time. Mine is very easy to use. I hope to get another one except my next one will be all black handle and blade and i am going to have some mother of pearl scales made for it.It will be my dress knife.

I like mine more than I thought I would. I picked it up out of curiosity, but was pleasantly surprised (that beats opening up a knife and thinking what the heck is this). I would have to agree about the jimping, but my lock has been pretty smooth and easy. My only real complaint is that though the lock is in a good place for closing I tend to have my thumb on it and it makes it hard to flip open. I find myself just pulling back the lever and flicking it open.

What took you so long? :p

I wish one was made with a larger handle (and maybe larger blade, but really just want a larger handle).

Do you guys find that the thumbstuds get in the way of cutting through deeper materials? That's the only concern that's kept me from getting one.

Haven't cut more than boxes, plastic, string, and the like with mine, but the thumbstuds haven't snagged in any pizza boxes.

They're really easy to pop out. tap tap tap with a hammer, and voil'a you can have a studless RAM (which some people prefer for aesthetics)

It's not my fault it took so long! I placed the order about a month ago but the shipment was delayed due to the site waiting to get my DMT sharpening gear in stock (which I tried with rather poor results - will have to give it a few more tries this weekend when finals are over).

Another something to mention about the knife. When I use the studs to flip it open, my thumb gets a bit tender, as if my thumb scrapes the sharpened blade when opening it (I get the same feeling when I stud flip open my Trance)... Am I just crazy and imagining things or could I my thumb possibly be contacting the edge of the blade during the deployment? O.o

Congratulations on your purchase Lock. Seriously talk to Firebert on here about some custom scales they are really pretty reasonable if you don't go crazy on the wood type. They make the lock much easier to manipulate. Plus they look great. Glad you like your knife.

If you hit the three studs with your thumb, then the three points of contact, might, in theory, "massage" your thumb. :p Mine never comes close to the edge when I thumb it out.

I don't mind the (very) slight sting of flicking it open with the studs, I just don't want it to be because my thumbs decides to get a full rub down from the blade =P

+!. Seriously :D

Would I have to send my knife out to get the scales put on, or could I just order them and slap em on myself? O.o Who / where / how?! :P
