So I got my RAM today...

I'd have to disagree. My experience with the 13c is that it has been surprisingly good performer.

I too have been impressed with the sandvik steel. It takes a very fine polished edge and keeps it acceptably long. I only have to touch up once a week to keep the hair-whittling edge.

I sent a email to Kershaw's warranty dept about replacing a verifiable bad heat treat on a knife. I'll post the response.

Absolutely –we would replace it for you at no charge.

If you need to send the knife in for warranty service we need you to
do the following:
1.Please enclose with the knife, inside the box, a letter with your
name, return address and telephone number.
2.We suggest sending the knife back to us via U.P.S or Federal
Express. This automatically provides you a tracking number so you may
verify the knife's arrival at our facility.
3.Please address the box ATTN: Warranty Department and send it to
the address listed below.
Thank you again for your inquiry.

There you go. Best warranty in the business. ;)

Same here Phillip. I love this stuff along with the 14C28N. For an average
EDC steel it performs great and takes a very nice keen edge.

Sure it won't perform as well as D2 or S30V in wear resistance, but for
the price I find it to be a great steel to work with.

Just my .02 worth.

.

I like 13c as well or better than both the above steels, because in the time it takes me to get D2 or S30V where I like it I have sharpened a couple of 13c had a beer and put my sharpmaker up. I don't have to go outside and fire up the sander to get a screaming sharp edge, in just a few minutes. I love the sandvick steels as far as easy to sharpen they are really hard to beat. they seem to hold an edge like crazy too.

Many thanks! I believe I will send it back. I hope they take it as it has been through the ringer. Many scratches on the blade. I gave it to my 11 year old last year. He's worse than having a new Lab puppy about tearing up stuff.

Like I said earlier, great ergos and lock.

Someone PM me the address.

Thanks

Another fan of Sandvik here...I prefer 14C28N to 13C26. The Random Leek sprint run in 14C28N is one of the sharpest knives I own.
