Ok..soo I am coming up on 1000 posts and, staying in BF fashion, I will be doing a giveaway as a 'thank you' of sorts for advice and such I have receieved here once I have submitted my 1000th bit of 'wisdom.'

Here's the deal, due to an absolute lack of creativity at this time, I am going to continue in the vein of outdoors photos. I want to see the best wildlife shot ya got. I know we have some hunters on here who have bagged something worth looking at twice. It doesn't have to be bagged game. Photos of animals, as long as they are non-domesticated (sorry Maisy), are cool. Just give me a brief story and all the details. If it was a hunt, caliber, location, etc. If just a photo, give the camera specs and location. That way everyone is on semi-level ground with the rules.

Ok...now the important part for y'all. I don't have any nifty knives to give away. However, I have my CamelBak Upland in Mossy Oak Break-Up that has never been used. It was only taken out of the plastic for a pic.

The entries will be accepted until I reach 1000 posts. The winner will be chosen by a near and dear trusted friend of mine.

Dougo, thanks for the contest.

This one is from the Hillsborough River in Tampa, FL. While on vacation there in 2007, my wife and I rented a canoe and took a the trip down the river. We saw this guy hanging out on the bank. I took the shot from the stern of the canoe. The camera was a Panasonic DMC-FZ30 8MP digital.

Even though the river basically runs through the city of Tampa, you really do get a sense of being in the wild. There was tons of wildlife -- mostly birds, but we did see a river otter as well.

Congrats on the 1k

Here's a shot taken this year at the beginning of a hike. Not game, but leave your kill for awhile and these guys will make sure there is nothing left when you get back.

This is a female Hummingbird that I bagged a couple weeks ago in Portal, Georgia. :p

I'm kidding of course. This poor little critter was caught between some boxes and a window in my brother-in-laws garage. We could hear it and by the time we found it she was exhausted. I took it outside, snapped this pic then set her free. The little thing took off like it had JATO rockets on.

Camera is a Panasonic FX10.

Thanks for the chance.

Thanks Doug for the contest

Thought I'd submit a pic from my best rabbit hunt ever. My partner Steve took me to his secret rabbit hunting place that I had heard about for years but never visited. We spent a morning in the area and took 21 cottontails between us:

RabHnt6.jpg

That's me with the rabbits. Steve took 14 of the rabbits with a scope sighted Ruger 10/22 in 22 lr. I took the remaining 7 with an opensighted Remington Model 597 in 22 lr.

Here's a pic of Steve with the rabbits:

I'll show a couple extra pics of the area we took the rabbits to for cleaning. The hunt and cleanup took place in northern New Mexico. Only the first pic of the rabbits is submitted for the contest.

We did the cleaning on the Chama river above Abiquiu Lake (Georgia O'Keefe country). Here's a couple pics of the lake:

and here's the Chama, looking upstream and then down:

RabHnt4.jpg

Steve used a Gerber Magnum L.S.T. for the cleaning, and I used a Schrade Trapper.

Incidently, Steve and I have used the spot and stalk method for hunting ducks on the Chama with great success. But that's another story.

Man Tony, I hate that picture! It would be better with the RC4 stabbed right in the center of that huge creapy spider!

Taken earlier this year in Western North Carolina.

Those are some fantastic photos!

This picture came from the hills near Sandy, UT. I was climbing when I noticed these critters. I sunk my crampons into a less-vertical section of ice, and snapped this picture. Can you find 'em all? (3 I think)

This is a Eastern male turkey I killed last spring. I killed this one with a 12ga. shotgun shooting 3-1/2" # 5 shot on the 2nd day of the season. I harvested him after about 3 hours of trying to call him in. Hope you guys enjoy!

P.S. Thanks for the opportunity to win the pack:thumbup:

this is a picture of a new born baby sea lion, the picture was taken at the Galapagos Island off the coast of Ecuador on our family trip this summer, the camera was a Nikon Coolpix.

How about one dead and one alive.

First one is at Sac Refuge. Used my Benelli SBE. Second one is a Hen Mallard on Lake Tahoe right after a storm on the beach.
