Got my Spyderco Dragonfly 2 yesterday and WOW is this thing sharp! I mean...way sharper than my Temperance 2 was when I got it.

I'm literally sitting in my back yard pulling out beard hairs and whittling them. No joke.
 
Interesting that you should bring up the G10 vs FRN thing. I went back and forth over and over and over and, to save the money in order to also buy a Streamlight Microstream (which is fantastic) I went with FRN, feeling deep down that I would get it and hate it, think it felt "cheap", had too much flex, etc.

Turns out I love this handle material. It's far exceeded my expectations. It took handling it in person for me to fully understand what the material actually is, if that makes sense.

That is one crazy thick beard hair. But congrats, the DF is a decent little knife. I have one in H1 in my back pocket right now. But I'm not about to start ripping out my beard. ;)
 
Great little blade, VermontEdge - more useful than most think... until they carry one for a while! The Cold Steel Mini Tuff Lite is also a great little utility blade and wicked razor sharp out of box:



For any of you Forumites who have not tried carrying a mini utility blade, you don't know what your missing! At 1.2 oz (for the Dragonfly 2) or 1.5 oz (for the CS), there's no reason not to have one of these little workhorses with you. JMHO.

This thread has taught me to read before looking at pics. I had a brief WTF moment when i saw the hair. Just glad it came from your face afterall.
 
I thought it was a 16-gauge wire. You must brush your beard with a lawn-rake.

Steels? I prefer ZDP and G10, but VG10 and FRN are also just fine.

My new endura came like that...I wonder if I can easily match it...it is just insane sharp.My favorite game with that blade is slowly pushing it into a shop towel hanging from my other hand.It just goes through like there is already a hole.It just blows me away how superior and well finished the edge is out of the box.My Police 3 VG10 G10's are close...very close.
VG10 is amazing to me!

I have that knife and it's pretty sweet. I often carry mine as a secondary knife. I drop it in my pocket and forget about it.

Oh and did I mention how sharp it is? Crazy sharp out of the box...
