I went to go help a buddy work on his truck, finished and hoped on the bike to go home, now since I got the Sebenza a month ago my hand is constantly in my pocket checking for my knife.

So I get home and about an hour later my buddy shows up and ask me if I'm missing anything and I fall him no so he says,"...well I guess it's mine then.

After tackling him by the door he teaches into his pocket and pulls out my Sebenza and hands it to me, I was incredulous, I couldn't believe I almost lost my Little 21.

I'm never putting it down again,if I would of lost it I would of went out of what little mind I have left.

How do I carry it and keep it safe? Maybe a lanyard with a clip going to my belt loop.

I have used a gun lanyard from Blackhawk for a nicer knife before (Busse BAD, Busse GW, Busse SS etc).

They are not very obtrusive if your main concern is loosing the sucker. Put the velcro end on the belt right over the pocket and it works great.

I only do this when out in the boonies, or canoeing or fishing with a nice knife.

That was close. I couldn't imagine losing one of my $40 knives, let alone a Sebenza. You have a good friend.

In 25 years I've lost 3 knives, an AG Russell One Hand Knife, a David Winston custom folder and a Delta Z 360°, all the rest have only been MIA and eventual showed up, I misplaced my BM Mini Reflex for 5 years, I wandered the woods around my property everyday looking for it, was almost ready to give up and get a new one when I found out in a box in the basement with a set of lockpicks I was missing also.

My wife already knows when I misplace a knife, I go on a major cleaning expedition trying to find the missing knife.

I did lose a Sebenza, it sucks! You are very lucky to have such a great friend

In an adjacent thread, NeverMore1701 just lost his Brad Southard on a hike. I'm glad you found your Sebbie. I normally carry a large Sebbie and would be quite upset if I lost it. I suppose I've been lucky so far. I've carried a clipped folder for at least 15 yrs without incident. Of course, Murphy's Law could hurt me right now...

How did your Sebenza fall out of your pocket? If it came unclipped, I'd suggest you remove the pocket clip and carry your Sebenza deep in your pocket from now on.

I usually keep it in a leather sheath I made but I was using it under the truck and has just put it back in my pocket, I had put the leather sheath in my other pocket when I first took the knife out so I didn't notice it was missing because the sheath was in my pocket.

So, you don't really misplace knives, she just hides them so you'll clean?

I said that to her once, longest week of my life, until I apologized. To be honest... I still believe it.;)

I suggest just keeping it in the Leather Sheath or just keeping a good eye on it.
I've had a few knives clip to my couch before.

I would have a heart attack if I lost my Sebenza. I carry it clipped but keep good tabs on where it is and such. So far I haven't had any issues.

That sheath almost cost you by having it in your pocket with no knife !
If there's no knife in the pouch don't put the pouch in your pocket:p

If you were laying down a knife can come out of the pocket pretty easy if not clipped on, or in a suede leather(not smooth) pouch. I've had one that wasn't clipped fall out in my recliner once, but noticed it was missing when I got up, so I knew where it was.
Maybe you should keep it clipped on, or make sure and put it in the suede pouch you made.

Yeah, I know you know all of that now:D
Glad you still have it:thumbup:

Since I don't work in an office anymore I wear jeans so my pockets are pretty tight but I had on carpenter pants and the pockets are really loose compared to regular jeans.

I shoulda known better, I've had things fall outta these pockets before while ridin' the motorcycle, it won't happen again, (knock on wood). ;)

Ha, If it had been clipped on it wouldn't have came out:D
