So I took out a small GEC congress to cut a piece of tape at work yesterday ...

No disparaging remarks about New Jersey. People are STUPID!! And that’s not a regional thing.

There are some gorgeous parts, for sure. My ex was from Vernon, also had some fun times up at Sparta. There are definitely some fun times to be had on the Shore, although my fiance's family spends their time in Avalon and that's definitely not my scene.

My problem of course is that I've spent most of my time where my mother lives, in East Brunswick, and that might in fact be purgatory.

So happy I work a sausage fest trade job where I can let this bad boy fly any time I need to. Which is often.

Unbelievable.
Does she walk around on her feet without a helmet?

I retired from a Fortune 50 corp, working in a cubicle farm.

One day I showed a friend my new AG Russell Acies.

A young lady in the row of cubicles saw the knife, my mistake, and she loudly blurted " IS THAT A WEAPON??!!??"

I just told her no, it isn't a weapon.

This all happened in a decidedly Midwestern area.

Hope you don't get a talki....
My lord, do these people ever experience anything of the real world outside of CNN?

Where I work, you are allowed to carry a concealed firearm at/on the grounds and the offices if you have a state issued permit. And anyone can receive a permit by taking and passing a comprehensive written test coupled with a range test and background check. Obviously knives are not an issue either.

I actually used to whittle during lunch at work, back when I worked with people worth spending the time with. There was one good-for-nothing douche who commented on it, wondering why I have have a knife at work. He’s left the company to father a child with some girlfriend he’d known for 9 months and work at a private school.

Everyone else thought it was cool, and always wondered what I was making next.

Never considered knife size until recently at work. After a shift in management I really had to tone down the knives... Old manager was a friend and would ask to see, use and compliment my knives. Gifted a dyed burgundy Buck 110 LW to a guy. Espada XL one day for fun. Then new management tripped and I started carrying either GEC style small slippies, using the small blade, Spyderco Cricket (great shape omg) or Kopa for quick one hand cuts. Only use my full pocketknife or SAK blade if preparing apple or food in break room.

Sucks that this difference is a reality. I can't as readily carry my clipped knives and work to conceal my more blatant clips with stuff and am conscious of my use.

I hear you. I work an office job as well. Reason #329 to carry a Victorinox Classic is the thing you describe. Sad but through. I’m happy there are still 328 other and better reasons to carry a Classic. It shouldn’t be like this but I guess that’s life in the 21st century in some parts of the world.

So far two memos from HR (been working with em 11 years now) on carrying "deadly bladed weapons" to work. The first time was when security saw me openly displaying them at my desk. The second when HR saw a post of mine in Facebook. So, everyone in the office is blocked. :D

And to the OP, maybe she was talking about something else about you. :D :D :D
