So,i want a SAK!

I usually pack a Climber or Huntsman.But that Explorer Plus has me thinking.I rarely use the saw blade on my Huntsman,but the phillips driver on the EP looks mighty useful.
 
I EDC Explorer Plus about 20 years before changing to Huntsman lite , I love the inline Phillips screw driver of the two models.
 
I alomost ordered the plus,but i wanted the tweezers.Now to pick a keychain model.(Maybe i'll get one with a pen)Do they make one with a pen and a light?Are the batteries/pen refills easy to come by?

The ExplorerPlus has tweezers! it just has a pen also (toothpick & tweezers one side, pen the other) doh!

I've used my pen for around 4 years now, never run out or needed to replace it, if I did I would get one from Rotokid Shop (he has a kit with everything!)

The light/lite models are nice but another layer (making them thicker) and not very bright or very long lasting, which is fine for many. Not hard to change the battery(s) in them (pop off the battery cover and replace the watch battery).

you can buy a keychain light (Fauxton or Photon) really cheap and just hook it on the ring on the SAK (I've done this) that works fine.
 
Some of the newest "Lite" models have extra bright white led lights that are just as good as any key chain light. But you need to make sure it is one of the newer models with the bright light. Batteries and retractable ink pen refills are easily found and are easy to replace.
 
The Hiker is the same size as the Farmer. Has the same saw, an extra blade, plus toothpick and tweezers. A lot less expensive.

No big deal,give's me a reason to get a pen model for my keychain!
ETA-Just ordered a Manager!

i like the fieldmaster the best. it covers all cutting and screw driving needs while still being pocketable.

somebody is hooked! lol and you know what? SAKs are a great thing to be hooked on! inexpensive, useful, so many models/styles/sizes. we'll be seeing group shots soon enough ;)

the Manager is one nice tool! Congrats

Craftsman is my favorit thick SAK... i love it and carry them when i go traveling...
 
Mr.Postman dropped off a bunch of goodies today!Here's a shot of the Victorinox crew so far.The quality,fit and finish is GREAT!I'm hooked for sure,the Manager is on the keychain now.

The Manager has been GREAT on the keychain!How did i live without it???I've used the Spirit a few times as well,the Explorer has just sat there looking pretty.I'd like to get one more(at least),just can't pick one...

I guess you would understand why my EDC these days is the Midnite Manager and Spirit S ;).
 
Midnight Manager on my keyring, Compact in EDC rotation and OHT for camping, these are a few of my favorite things!
