How would I go about doing this?

I have one site saved in my favorites. It's a .pdf file. I'm sure someone has seen it before. But I tried utilizing Google in my search for general instructions on how to make one....but to no avail.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

If you want to make one, you've got to run all the bases the first time around. You can't skip steps or pieces for any reason, many makers have learned that the hard way. I believe the PDF you mentioned is Terry's? If so, it's a very good tutorial and will be very helpful.

Ok good. I printed it out and I plan on taking it home and memorizing the thing.

I'm usually very thorough with ever project I take on. I'm sure I just need to get comfortable with the tools I've never used before.

I would first make a mock up of all the pieces so they fit together and operate the way you want to. Get the pivot points and latch all lined up. Then use that mock up to cut and assemble all the pieces. I am sure you are aware of the typhoon and tsunami kits that are out there. I don't do kits but that could be a good place to start. Of course you might want to start with the basics of knifemaking especially grinding blades.

I wasn't aware of any knife kits....

I really have a specific design in my head. It's something new, and if I could just get my idea out there, i'm more than positive I will acquire some support.

You ever think of doing a tutorial Bali? You've been making some wicked knives lately, and your photography skills seem to be better than most. I think I could learn a great deal from a Balibalistic tutorial. ;)

Great tutorial!! this has all the basic info you will need.
