...to get a forged Michael Price style knife, what maker would you guys recommend. I'm thinking maybe Steve Dunn or Harvey Dean.

What he is doing with his nickel/silver mokume has got to be seen to believed....and he is doing pieces in that style already, price would be reasonable, and he enjoys working in that style.

Ron Newton and I have been kicking around that very idea. Harvey Dean would be on my short list.

Steven, do you know of any place that I can check out photos of knives in this style that Matt has done? It seems he doesn't have a website, and the dealers that have photos of his knives don't have any of the Michael Price type.

BladeGallery, has a nice ring dagger by Matt right now.

Check it out.

Matt Diskin, all the way

Don't you mean "Dirty" Sanchez...

I have seen several examples of his work and even though I rarely agree with his opionions on the forum he is very good at knifemaking.

Matt doesn't have a website, I have looked. Most of the photos I can find are of really nice autos. The Price style dagger on Blade Gallery is about the only knife of that style from him that thanks to Steven, I was able to check out. It is a beauty. That is not the style of Price knife that I am looking for, but it shows that he is very capable of making that type of knife.

Let's try that again. Here is a photo of the style of Price knife that I am looking for. The image is taken from Steve Dunn's website.

I have been friends with Phil Lobred for about two years, and have seen about everything that there is to see in SF/Price style knives.

Keith, you are going to have to trust me on this. You can go with Hancock or Dean, and you will get what you want, but it will not come inexpensively.

What Matt is doing with the nickel/silver mokume gane, the style that he is working towards, and the PRECISION that he is working with defies comparison. FWIW, he is going to do something for me in the style, my only piece of this style, so I AM putting my money where my mouth is.

Matt is one of the best kept secrets of the ABS.

Keith--you could keep your $ at home and contact Brian Lyttle as I'm sure he could do what you want.

Doe Brian forge? He is very talented.

He does according to his web site (which has good examples of his work BTW).

Brian makes knives both by stock removal and forging. He needs to update his website. It hasn't changed in years. Some of those photos are of knives he made in the early to mid 90s.
