So im looking for a nice new knife and need some suggestions.

+1 on the Para II. I have knives that were way more and way less and if I had $100 to spend on one knife that would probably be it.

I would also suggest trying to find a local dealer that stocks knives and try to handle a few to see what you like. I've have several catch and release knives that I've bought based on others recommendations that I just didn't like.

yea iv been looking around for shops, i cant really find much besides like walmart and sporting goods stores, i did notice a sign up for a new gun shop though, IDR the name but im gonna check tomorrow on the way to work.

I did handle a friends oso sweet today and a skyline, cant say i was impressed really, she has way smaller hands then me though witch is probably why she likes them, they both felt a bit small handle wise in my hands. The Damascus skyline was so awsome looking though.

Im going to be honest though, im kind of nervous to spend 100$ on a knife that i never heard of or had any experience with (and from the looks of it not going to find somewhere to handle it). But im still going to look into it and see if its worth taking the chance on, probablly will order sometime tomorrow unless im really that stuck as to having no idea then id wait.

On anther note i saw the spyderco centofante 3 online today and it looked pretty decent idk if anyone has any knowledge on it but it looked like it could be on the consideration list.

Great choice, quality materials and reliable company.
Im actually making a list, idk if that sounds stupid or not and im going to go from there, ima do light research and make a list then deeper research and wing it and do process of elimination to make a decision.

If you really want a good knife, get something from Benchmade. I have a drawerfull of the things just because I love them. I have a couple of the Bone Collector series shown earlier and you cant go wrong there. My favorite though is one of the Rampage folders. Either the mini or the full sized one, which ever you like best. They are assisted opening though but i have read that they are even legal in California, one of the looniest states in the Nation. If you are worried, just be careful who you flip it open in front of. They are awesome pocket knives.

you already said that, i didnt disregard what you said but im not going to close my mind to just one brand of knives.

What about a Spyderco Sage 1? It has great ergos, S30v steel, carbon fiber handles, liner lock. It's worth a look seen but it may take up most of your budget.

yea, ill take a look at it, still not sure if i want to spend all of the money or not yet, not sure if its worth it with the amount and reasons i have a knife.

Anther hard thing is im going to have to accept that no matter what it costs or what it is there will always be good and bad things about it that i need to accept.

I'm gonna say Spyderco Paramilitary 2. As long as you don't pry with it, you'll be fine. For an all around folder, I would also suggest a Spyderco Endura 4 with the hollow/saber grind. It has a stronger/thicker tip for all around use. They have it also in ZDP-189 steel with FFG (full flat grind) which holds an edge longer but their VG-10 steel is great too which is better than 8Cr13MoV. Take a look at the Delica series too if you want something a little smaller. They can all be opened and closed one handed.

As far as Benchmade goes, I don't trust their Axis locks anymore. I'm not trying to bash them but I already have had to send two folders back to them (NRA Gaucho and a 710) because their Axis lock broke on me with regular use (just opening and closing). Their liner lock on my Benchmade Dejavu as already seen its life and I don't trust it anymore because of blade play. Just my experience. They do have some nice designs though.

You can also try Cold Steel (Voyager, Recon, American Lawman). They have one of the strongest locks (Tri-Ad) in the industry, descent steel and designs. But out of everything recommended, I'm still going to push for the Spyderco Paramilitary 2 in any flavor. The compression lock on it is also one of the strongest even though you might never need it to be but it's nice to know for peace of mind.

i know im going to probably have a lot of people think im stupid but the more i look at spyderco the more i dont like the designs, they just strike me as awkward looking and kind of ugly. please dont flame me for that im not trying to troll its just an opinion. i kind of feel like that i have to be visually happy with it to be satisfied with regardless of how good it preforms.

Don't worry. I felt the same way until I bought my first Spyderco (Military). The ease of opening, materials and ergonomics got me hooked. They may not be the prettiest but they sure do perform (reminds me of my ex GF lol). You have to give them a chance. But seriously, go for what's appealing to you and something that you will be happy to live with. It's your money and you should be happy with what you buy. There's always a balance in what looks good and what works good. That's the quest.

A LOT of ppl feel that way about Spyderco at first... check around, though, they are VERY popular, in spite of that kind of first impression...

For about $100-$110, you can get a Spyderco Paramilitary 2 with S30V blade-steel. An excellent all-around EDC knife; blade is 3.3" long. Excellent locking system (compression) that allows easy, instant opening/closing with one hand. My all-time favorite.

that sure does seem to be a popular one doesnt it

Honestly i think im going to change it to about 50$, im not into knives enough to want to spend 100$ (yet anyway that could change if i find myself using them alot more.)

definitely the para2....at $100 nothing beats it in that price range. s30v, compression lock, superb Golden fit n finish.
however, if you feel the para2 is abit too much, try the manix 2.

save few more dollars and get spyderco gayle bradley the best knife for 130 $ period.Blade steel, fit and finish, lock, materials, looks, toughnes,in my opinion just perfect edc.

So i say i dont want to spend all of it? For the fact that i dont use it alot, so people start saying spend even more...?

If you are revising your budget downward then you won't get much better value than the Ontario RAT-1 folder. I bought one a couple of weeks ago and like it so much I immediately sent for a second.

For the under 50 blades I have liked the Kershaw Skyline and the Spyderco Ambitious (i love this blade for the value) and Tenacious, the Ambitious is under 3 inches I think, if that's an issue for you, and they are both solid blades for value... But if you spent a little more for a delica/endura or even a sage 1, You'd probably be happy with'em. The Delica and Endura are pretty hard to beat IMO, simple but effective, and I like the look. If you don't like the Spyderco look, I have had good experiences with kershaw (under 3, maybe a leek?, but a bit more than 50 and assisted...) or, call be crazy, but case makes a linerlock trapper that is a one hander, and very non-agressive, I think there's a clip for one as well.. you have a lot of choices... fun

Cold Steel American Lawman, good materials [AUS 8A / G-10] and an extra safe, reliable Triad lock. It's classic look will remind you of the 110. I know Spydercos are good, at least decent knives but i never caught the bug [they look friggin weird lol].
