I've only put handles on blades so far, 8 to be exact. I've been around here reading everything I could find on making a knife from scratch. Today I started on a knife from a piece of 1084.

I cut out my profile today with a grinder.

Does anything stand out that is going to be a problem?

I have a craftsman 2X42 sander. Some new files and access to most other tools at work or friends.

Here are a couple of knives I have put the scales on. Just so you can see where my skill level is at:rolleyes:

You definitely put a nice finish on those handles!

Profile looks nice, any ideas for handle materials yet? Seem like this would make a good necker/medium edc :)

That last pic has Ironwood scales. That stuff is amazing, if it wasn't so expensive I would use it all of the time.

So, is it easier for a beginner to do the plunge line with a round file or a flat file.
