So I've Got a Few CRK's.........

I haven't warmed up to the idea of a CF. They seem like they wouldn't be as grippy, and my hands need grippy. I just got a 25, that's nice knife.

That's been a concern as well as the possibility of the CF chipping out if dropped.(sadly I have dropped my Sebs more than once) My ex thought it was hilarious the first time I ever dropped my 'you spent how much on that knife' knife.
I've talked to a few different people who have experience with CF and they say it's different from titanium but you get used to it. They also say it's extremely tough.
A Micarta 25 is another viable option. I have been eyeing those lately but I wonder how well the inlays will tolerate the extremes of Alaskan weather.
Glad to hear you like the 25. It was my first Seb in years after losing my BG42 Regular.

I didn't even think about the chipping, but that makes sense. Between the neuropathy and the arthritis in my hands, I'm better off just sticking with the Ti scales.

Oh, gee, does that mean I need to go buy another UG? ;) :p :D

My first and only CRK is a large 21 CF... Its my edc on a season farm job. I went with CF because I needed the large for my purposes and wanted it to still be a light carry. I have been putting it through hell but not abusing. So far I couldn't be more impressed with this knife. One thing I will note is that I have some small snail trails on the ti side and lots on the clip. The CF looks perfect. Most of the traction I need on the knife comes from the top and bottom of the grip and my thumb either on the top of the blade or the lock bar ti side.

This is not said to start and argument, just to speak out for CRK and CF side scale. Love it!!!!

So much so that I have. Small 21 plain or full ti coming in the mail today for my edc when I switch back to my fall, winter, spring job 😄 and can't stop looking to buy more!

CRK, you have another one hooked! 😎😎

Thank you for the input. This is the kind of info I like to hear before making a decision, user input.
I'm still on the fence but a CF 25 has been looking pretty good lately.

I'll also second the carbon fiber 21,although mine isn't used too hard, because I want to keep the Damascus looking pretty. Nice collection you have.

Hey my edc in the farm is ladder Damascus and you would be surprised how well it holds up. I can't see any noticeable wear on it yet. Use it!

Excellent collection! I feel a lot less guilty about owning too many CRKs after seeing this collection!

If you include the one I got today and the one in the mail......18. But some thinning will be happening in the near future...maybe. ;)

You're getting a pretty respectable collection there yourself!

I'm getting emails and PM's left and right about this one Mnandi, so I'll answer them in here. It's a Knifeart exclusive run of 25 Mnandis, this one is number 2. I don't know if they were all Redwood Burl or not, but I think so. I've got a couple pics, but they don't do it justice. This one has very nice, curly grain that could rival some of the Hondurans I've seen, except that it's a shade darker. Take a look at the date on that birthcard, just wow. I get a lot of offers to buy it, so I'll just say that when the times comes to have only one Mnandi left in my collection, this will most likely be it.
