So, just how good is Benchmade's warranty anyway?

Excellent, though no surprising, news Shadow!!
$30 for a new blade, latch and labor??? In a timely fashion?? Can it get any better??
Nope!!
Customer Service is one of the reasons I have many BMs!! Just like Spydie.....Sal is the reason there!!
It's not just the knives, even though they are seriously cool!!

I have no complaints about Benchmades customer service department. I have sent two knives in for the LifeSharp service and they do an outstanding job.

I Have been overly impressed with Benchmade Service.

I needed two set of clips over Christmas, and I emailed them during their and most of the country's vacations...And a woman emailed me on her day off. She went into the office, because she said it was quiet and no one was there, to get work done. She had me all packaged up and mailed out the same day. She actually went to the post office on her way home from her day off to drop off the package at the Post office in person. Even though they were closed.

This is only ONE case where Benchmade has gone out of the way to do things for their customers. I have had knives that are "More Solid" or "Cooler" looking over the years. But Benchmade is by far the most amazing company I've ever worked with. Knife company or not.

Last week i had a question so instead of calling I used the "chat" feature on their website. Within about 20 seconds I had the answer to my question and a nice little chat with the customer service rep. Its like she enjoyed chit chatting with me about knives for 10 minutes. To me the customer service reps seem to enjoy their job and are good at it.

If this is a praise thread im going to add on. I sent in a grozzly creek after a friend had messed it up. Friend is a firefighter and he abused it. Cracked scales and he even messed up the pivot to a point where he stripped the old screw that goes into the pivot and broke another screw thay he tried to replace the pivot screw with. I was embarassed when I dropped it off at the benchmade factory but was never asked what happened. Well 2 days later my knife is ready with a fixed pivot and brand new scales and washers. Ive sent in 3 other knives for the lifesharp service and benchmade always impresses. The customer servicr has fueled my addiction and loyalty to the company. Thanks benchmade!

Benchmade's customer service is legit.

I just sold a Contego that took two trips to Benchmade. One trip was for some lock rock that it acquired from years of being abused. The second trip was to have it rebladed because I sharpened a good bit of the blade away through those abusive years. When I sold it, the only factory original part on that entire knife was the G10 handle scales.

Essentially, Benchmade replaced my entire knife for $30.

I've gone through a lot of knives, Benchmades and other brands. BKC's CS and warranty department have never failed to please. One day I'll pay them a visit, it's my version of home sweet home.

I feel sorry for companies like Benchmade and also give them a massive thumbs up in today's whining perfectionist society. When I started collecting knives and later guns in the mid-1970's, I never remember being so anal about perfection. Most things were assembled by hand and there was bound to be variances and you were fine with it. Major flaws that affected function were dealt with through the company, but slight blade centering and grinds were things you lived with, adjusted or reground. Nowadays, I laugh at some of the complaints that I see about knives. Literally, people taking macro shots of a flaw that is barely noticeable and then complaining in open forums about how crappy a company is.

Benchmade must spend an insane amount of payroll and money dealing with people that demand perfection in a mass produce knife. Yet they still provide top notch customer service. So, they will continue to get my money....
