So let’s talk cqc 6 clones

I will post a better picture of my Poboy 6 this weekend.

Emerson asked that pimpers stop doing Poboy 6's because they were being sold to unsophisticated buyers on EBay as custom 6's.

He was getting them into EKI for warranty work from people thinking they were true customs.

Quite frankly it's all about the mystic of the 6 and the Navy SEAL's. The handle on a 6 is less functional than you would think. it doesn't feel all that good and is bad for retention. That is the reason Emerson changed the handle design when he went to the CQC-7 and the Specwar. The 6 has become the most desired "grail" knife for collectors after the 9 and the Rhino.

You can pimp a Commander into a Rhino and the blade shape of the 9 makes it nearly impossible to pimp. The 6 is only knife Emerson has asked people not to pimp. I would consider it showing lack of integrity if any pimper made a CQC-6 for other than his own use. And if you do one for your own use I suggest you keep it quiet because if you post it you will get more requests to do more than you can resist. It won't end well.

I really really appreciate your input and thank you in advance for posting your poboy 6, I will make one and I’ll show it here, I think people know by now I am not a paying member and I cannot sell even a thumb disk here so I think that should help me from the situation.

I am busy now with bolstering work and just consistently learning and trying new things, but when things slow down I’ll buy sheet titanium and some tool steel and begin my project “seraphim 6” haha

That doesn't prevent people from contacting you to have 6's made out of their 7's outside of the forum. I know they will.

My advice is to make your personal Poboy 6 a showcase for your capabilities, become a paying member or even a paying knife maker, then offer pimp services openly for all Emerson's except the 6.

Perfect blade for the job. One thing I notice is Bill did a down-swept boat tail while the 6 has an up-swept tail, and obviously the lack of flat-head screws. Great piece you've got there. A real keeper :)

You have a good eye. Bill was very conscious of people passing off a Poboy 6 as a custom and deviated from the look as you have noted.
