So maybe tomorrow

Yeah, here in California it's very similar. The law says it's ok to have a folder of any size in pocket, but the looks I get when I use my Kershaw Tremor to cut food or open packages in public, well I might as well be a machete-wielding maniac. I still do it, but it gets quite annoying.

So now we play the waiting game , looks at pictures and drooool.

Lol , yup. Saturday morning I'm going out to the storage unit to put some knives away , and dig out a kabar and my Esee rat3

Ausseknifeknut, just noticed you got your Beckerhead number. Congratulations!

Yeah , thanks bro :) get my new toys , then maybe look at start modding. I've got an older kabar bk2 , the one with the smoother coating . Might make that my first stripper

People say they are "anti-knife", but the fact is the average adult uses a knife every single day. They just don't think about their kitchen knives, or even butter knives (even dull ones are still knives) as "knoifes". My sister freaks every time I open a folder, even when I'm 10 feet away, yet just loves the cheap Henckel's kitchen set I gave her years ago. And I can walk right into my kid's elementary school with a 9" santoku in my pocket (we bag fruit and veg for the kids a few days a week) but you can bet they'd freak if my 9 were hanging off my belt. People aren't anti-knife, they're just anti-"anything that doesn't look like a kitchen knife", I think, or anti-"carrying a knife in public" or some such. When someone feels the need to question one of the first tools ever invented by human beans, I just try to point out that people have been carrying edged tools since the human race learned to walk on two feet. Or just hand them a watermelon and a spoon and ask them to cut a few slices. What? You'll need a knife? But those are so dangerous!

You nailed it! Perceived intended use trumps all!

Yeah Well I went with my dad , and my nephew. We were camping with a camper trailer , chemical toilet , and portable shower. Same as the rest of the group. Unfortunately I live with my dad , and he's very anti knife

That's one of the strangest thing's i've ever heard don't know how anyone could be anti-knife (and i assume you mean big ol tactical blades or something) cause they have such great purpose in life they are the most used tool the is in the world. Imagine a world without knives.:D

No I mean to the point where if he found out I even have a knife I'd be kicked outta home. Hence the storage unit and PO box. I'm moving out end of the year , get a rental , or whatever I can afford , then take my babies outta storage.

Wow. That's crazy. Are there really strict knife laws in Australia? I have seen that the gun laws now there are very strict right? Can't CCW or even have a pistol if i'm not mistaken. My dad was a dick to growing up but that was mostly for booze and drugs. Guns and knives are actually pretty much encouraged where i'm from cause there other addictions to get into and not be so obsessed with the chemicals. By the way Nymphetamine is one of my favorite albums. Only COF album i know almost all the words to.

You can have a pistol , you must have a license , you're not allowed to carry it unless you're at the range. The gun and ammo must be stored in separate safes , or left at the range, you must attend a certain amount of range days a year and courses , you can have the pistol at your home as long as you are willing to allow police to randomly check that you are meeting said conditions , at random , any time they feel like it. If you have the pistol in the car and you have deviated from the planned route you gave the cops in any way , they want to know why you deviated and your license can be cancelled. As for my dad , well where do I start. That c$&t had multiple gfs while my mother was dying of cancer. I can't think of anything lower. I only live with him still because I can't afford rent ATM. I've loved cradle of filth since I was 18 , and yes the lyrics are hard to understand sometimes , but still love the music . The midian logo is the belt buckle I wear everyday. Dad doesn't drink heavy or smoke , he thinks I'm a loser cos I like drinking just as much as the next man , and I love knives, cigars , booze etc.

That sounds like way to much of a hassle to even want a gun. Espeically having to constantly having to talk to an deal with the f*ckin cops.:D The guns laws are a bit more relaxed here in the states. But still are a hassle. I can have any gun i want (except full auto's)loaded and ready to go in home and could carry pistol with just one course and register the gun. Am going to get my CCW permit soon cause i have been putting it off for to long. I have pistols that i would like to carry on me always.

That's f*cked up that your dad was cheating on your mother while she had cancer. Something i wouldn't forgive either. Best thing to do sometimes after your family gets f*cked up is leave all that shit behind and start everything new. Espeically if he's putting you down and depriving you of what you like and like to do.

What other knives you got? Sounds like your gonna have a ton of Beckers soon.:) Just recently got my first a BK24 and very much like it.

My beef with anti-knife people is not that they fear knives. My beef is with the anti-knife philosophy.....that they are compelled to fear ME.

They are so afraid of "EVERYTHING" that the first thought which comes to their tiny closed minds when they see me with a knife, is that I'm some psychotic stone cold serial killer who wants to cut them up, drink their blood, then shove them into tiny boxes. I am not that type of person. I find ANYONE who is anti-knife ON ANY LEVEL to be EXTREMELY offensive to me on a personal level. Even if it's someone who I might hold in high regard it is difficult to know that they WILL hate me without knowing me, just because I have a blade in hand. Anti-knivers are totally less than human and not worthy of society.

Sorry to hear about your dad. Family can suck. I have been through plenty of crap and have often thought life would be easier had I been an orphan. No ties, no family b.s. to put up with, just do what you want. I went that route and moved to Alaska after I got out of the U.S. Army. Didn't see or talk to my family for the better part of 10 years. Found a good wife, and have now started to reconnect to my family.

Sometimes you just need to get away and make your own life and then try to reconnect with your family. If you do not have a job find one and then find a room mate or two to bunk with and start your own life. Sounds like you need to change your situation. Life will be rough on your own but you will grow for it and be a better person.

One word of advise, and I am not looking to preach at you. I also like to have a drink and like to smoke a tobacco pipe. I do it responsibly, but still get looks from my family. Those things are fine but try to keep them in moderation not only to save a buck but also because I have seen alcohol destroy many a good man. I went down that path and it was no fun recovering from it.

Anyways I think you need to get out on your own as soon as possible. Make that a goal and go live your life the way you want.

Take care,
Greebe

One more quick thing about the family stuff then I will be done. As a father of two young boys I can tell you that sometimes, actually a lot of times, it really sucks being a parent. I am not defending your father because we all are accountable for our own actions, but when you have kids one day you will realize why your parents sucked a lot. The best we can do it try to be better then our parents and treat our kids as good as we can. This does not mean that we will not make plenty of mistakes. Most people consider me a pretty good father, but I have had plenty of moments where I feel like a looser as a dad. Again learn and drive on. So remember while your dad has acted like a fool, he too is probably having a hard time in life.

Yeah I have some issues. Nice 24 , Ulfkrogstad. storage unit has ka bars , some old spec plus ontarios , a few SOGS , my rowen made Esee rat 3 , heaps of cold steel machetes , a few Ontario machetes , several cold steel tomahawks , my bow , a couple Ontario made rats, all kinds of goodies . There's more but I can't think of them off the top of my head. I also have one falkniven , an f1. I had to sell all my busses years ago . Had a crk Neil Roberts warrior once , wish I never let that go . I have a hollow handle CRK , not sure of the model. And it's far from mint condition

Nice collection. How you like the F1? A swedish guy on here very much talked me into getting a A1 or S1 very soon. Need a big heavy duty stainless blade but just spent $200 on a BM contego and Lionsteel Sr2 a couple days ago and that should be here tomarrow so kinda outta my budget now for awhile.
